Me happy (post sans cerveau II)
I had a wonderful weekend.
It was
ulvain's birthday party on saturday and I was very much looking forward to it. My dear friend has had a pretty rough ride last year, but things are finally getting better. Hey, that's something we must celebrate with a great deal of enthousiasm! And when it comes to translating that enthousiasm into decoration, leave it to me ;) The recipe: balloons a plenty (there's never enough - and that's a rare area where I'm into overconsumption;)) arranged in different ways and bunches of bubble wraps (I saved those for an eventual party - yes, I have a twisted mind). I got help from several fellow conspirators,
fearsclave amongst them, and the end product was cool.
ulvain received power tools. Ulvain happy. Brought my drinking checkers I received from my godmother and kept forgetting on the top shelf of my kitchen. Ulvain played the game with his friend Sylvain. Teehee. And we got to play Garou afterwards. I'm never good at being convinving in this game, got burned pretty quickly - and I was a honest peasant. Got to play the drinking checkers game at the end of the night. That was cool!
But there was something else. There was a surprise within the surprise party. Getting up the stairs to
conscioussoul's place in order to decorate it for the party, I found pieces of medieval armor neatly placed on each step. I first thought to myself «cool, April brought her SCA armor!», but then «wait, doesn't she have a samurai armor?». I open the door, conscioussoul's waiting with a camera in hand while I see, sitting on cushion, A full fledged SCA helmet and a realistic celtic sword. Oh. My. God.
Sensory overload. I get to realize this is a present. Wow. Me own complete SCA armor. Wow. A graduation present April,
conscioussoul and friends (
mousme and
fearsclave amongst them) offered me. They totally hit the spot. And the celtic sword is just tooooo cool. That's no second grade thing you won't dare swinging around lest the hilt breaks up from the blade. They got it sharpened so of course I won't use it to spar. Guys, I can't thank you enough!! I love you all!
