If it weren't for Eve
Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials series makes a lot of interesting points.
If it weren't for Eve, we wouldn't have any sin or pain, but we also wouldn't have any knowledge either. I have a feeling that if I were in Eve's place, I would have done the exact same thing, and then pretty mad at God for lying (he said they would die if they ate of the fruit) and also because he had tried to keep me in the dark.
Too bad the Golden Compass movie totally sucked and failed to retain any of the spirit or philosophy of the book.
