I really admire the way you reveal Mycroft's thoughts here and the motivations behind his actions. It's both sweet and sad that Mycroft comes to enjoy his chats with Moriarty as Moriarty is the only one he can talk to about Sherlock his brother rather than Sherlock the genius detective. And considering how much was at stake, I think Mycroft's decision is understandable if not justifiable. Lastly, I just want to say that the final line of this story is wonderful:

Moriarty wanted Sherlock to fall and there was no telling who was going to have to fall with him.

Thank you! Finally, someone who understands where Mycroft was coming from! [I'm very defensive about my Mycroft and hate that everyone is so quick to jump at him for "betraying" his brother and no one ever takes a moment to think about why he did it.]
