Annette gave me a handful of cards not too long ago for the MISS Foundation's Kindness Project.  The concept of this is to do anonymous random acts of kindness, in honor of and in memory of a loved one who has passed away.  It just seemed like such a beautiful tribute to Ava, and such an awe-inspiring way to keep her memory alive...to be able to do ( Read more... )

Hi
You don't know me, but I know all about you and your family. I work with your Aunt Laura at FDI. Well anyway, I came to work today and was telling your aunt this wonderful, sad and happy story about a women I met at Wal-mart, you see I also work there part time as a cashier. I found out the womens name was Julia.
She started to talk to me about a mysterious stuff cat and card that was in with her baby, she said she had only looked away for split second and when she looked down, there it was.
She told me she had been praying for a baby she never knew. It started a few months ago, not sure what month she told me. Anyway, she continued to talk about her own experience and then when she was done she showed me the card. I knew right away who the baby was she had been praying for.
I went on to tell her more of the life of Ava as I new it. The strength Ava's mother and father had at this time in their young lives. When the conversation did end me being teary eyed and her as well She said, she will cherish the cat and card and keep Ava in their thoughts and prays and not forget her. She was right about god works in mysterious ways, out of 12 cashiers she picked the one who could get the message to Ava's family.
After I told Laura the story, she asked me to come read something on her computer. The women was right about god works in mysterious ways, out of 12 cashiers she picked the one who could get the message to Ava's family.

Lorraine, I don't know if you'll check back to see this response, but I e-mailed my Aunt Laurie and asked her to thank you...I don't know if I can thank you enough. I forwarded all of this to my sister and Mom -- and it meant so much to us to hear from you. It just gives us so much faith that everything works out according to some reason, usually for reasons we just aren't meant to understand. Thank you so much for letting us know what an impact Ava made on someone else's life.

(I don't feel like I was very eloquent here...I've gotten teary every time I've logged on tonight!)
