Initially I made a personal 6 month vow. As I got close to the 6 months, I extended it to 1 year, at which point I said may as well go for 2.
After the 2, it was no longer a vow but having gone so long without, my standards and expectations went up exponentially.

I didn't mention why. But, I'm not sure - I think it's because boys hold no appeal anymore. I rather be involved with a 'man'.
