It looks like everything was fine.
The typhoon didnt hit until about 9pm, so I went out during the day yesterday. Everything was open and proceeding as per usual, there was even a festival on during the evening. When I got back to my apartment the wind was getting pretty strong, but that was about as bad as it got last night. By the sounds of it, the typhoon had already swept through Kyushu (I hear theres a city there with all access blocked), so it was quite a lot weaker by the time it got to Shikoku. Plus Matsuyama is in a fairly protected valley, so Im pretty sure there was no damage done. Everyone's going about their daily business as usual. Im not sure that the convenience stores even bothered shutting down during the storm.
So all good then!
In the meantime, I have the next three days off, so lots of spare time for cleaning my apartment, writing lesson plans, emailing people and whatnot. Id love to be going to see Harry Potter, but it doesnt come out here til the 21st, so please nobody write any spoilers on their LJs til after then. I spent a good few hours last night reading through book 5 again (possibly a bad idea, as now Im going to be more picky with what they're done), and Ill be seeing the movie as soon as I can.
