Today, at sunday school, we washed each other's feet. It was a lesson on humility and masters not being above servants. It was fun!! and very humbling. At first, we were all very against the idea of anybody washing anybody's feet. When my sunday school teacher (whom i love dearly <3) announced that SHE would be washing OUR feet, we screamed. and laughed. We rejected the idea of our teacher washing our feet because, one, it was wrong, two, we couldn't let her do something like that. i guess the whole idea of it was actually humbling ourselves to be able to watch our teacher do something so ...low.. Like how Jesus came to serve us, we considered him our master, doer of magnificent things and owner of our hearts. How could we let him come down to wash our feet? WE have to follow Jesus' examples and teachings and humble ourselves, love our enemies, and serve one another. In the end, my teacher washed two feet, we also washed feet. i washed one foot and two people washed both my feet at the same time. It felt reaaaaally weird to have them kneel before me and do something like wash my feet. I think it's more humbling to have our feet being washed than wash another's feet. Hm. I don't know. One of the boy's in my class, who was very against the idea, called it illegal. In the end, he agreed to wash my teacher's foot, because he wouldn't let her wash his. It was a very humbling experience. Things i've learned: We must love one another because Jesus loves us; We must be able to humble ourselves and not consider ourselves higher than anyone else; LOVE=GOD=GOOD=LIFE
