Big deal about today in my world - 3 things happened historically:
#1 - Circa 1970, a little girl named Tamara Alexandra Tyczska was born - she grew up to become, among a world of other things, a radiologist, a wife (with a new last name - Mysliwiec), a mommy (to my godchild, Alexandra) and most importantly to me, my very best friend in the world. If any of you have ever heard me mention my "sister", this is the lady I'm referring to - no, we're not blood, but we're too damn close to call it anything else.
#2 - Circa 1972, a little boy with white-blonde hair and enormous blue eyes came into the world - yup, the gods had seen fit to give me a little brother. Daniel Paul Hope (known to most of us these days as D or DP) has a birthday today, too. He's accomplished so much and I'm so very proud of him - in addition to all of theatrical a feats, he's also a dedicated, loving husband (to Dawn, my kick-ass, awesome sisterinlaw!), an amazing father (to my niece, Isabella - aka Bella) and most recently has started down the path to become a lawyer...somewhere along the line during the first 15 years of his life, we went from potentially mortal enemies to best of friends, confidantes and allies against the evils of parental restrictions. He and his family live in Brooklyn - there isn't a day that passes that I don't miss them. How lucky I am to have a brother who's my friend, too, huh?
#3 - Circa 1973, (and here's the biggie, kids...) a little boy that you ALL know (if you know me) was born in Buffalo, NY - adorable thing with big brown eyes and a rather unruly shock of brown/black hair. He loved dinosaurs and fossils and probably got into trouble on a fairly regular basis. Most particularly once his 2 younger sisters came into the world! I wasn't in the picture until many years later when we met in July of '99 at a Switchblade Symphony concert, friend of a friend. He charmed me way too easily by drinking vodka tonics like i was, quoting Monty Python at me and ultimately re-lacing my corset so it looked as it was meant to. I was married at the time (in name anyway) but I was absolutely intrigued by him and started falling for him within about 10 minutes. Fortunately for me, we became friends and once I came to my senses and courage and left the man i shouldn't have married in January of '00, we also became lovers not long after that, and roommates, too. Can you guess who I'm talking about? Yea, folks...it's the most amazing guy in my world (in THE world, as far as i'm concerned) and today is his birthday, too! for the last 6 and a half years, Rafe has been and will continue to be my heart of hearts, my sweetness and i am the luckiest girl in the world to be the one to get to wish him happy birthday today!
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tam, DP and my guy - i hope you all have the most wonderful day, because you certainly deserve every good thing that can be!!!!!
i love you guys.
