When I was a kid...lo these many moons past...there *was* a barbie whose hair you could do things to (one of my older sisters owned it). It involved not so much "dyes" as this colorant that would wash out easily. It had some natural kinds of colors, but *also*, some not so natural. You could get her hair pink, as a fer instance.

We're talking the mid 60's here...
