[arashi meguri] Momiji
I posted about Momiji a while back as I was happy that Nino had been somewhere near my current apartment.
And tonight I finally went to eat there with S-chan!!
We went in and there were only three seats open. There were guys from Hokkaido and Niigata there that also saw it on the show although they weren't watching it because of Nino.
We ordered the Suppon (turtle) Udon and Fugu (blow fish) Karaage just as Nino and Tunnels had ordered.
He knew we had seen it on the show from what we ordered so he brought out the award and let us take pictures of it and told the guy from Niigata to take our picture with it for us *thanks the guy doing shukatsu in Tokyo* and then the master also asked us to sign his guest book. He was already in book number 6!!
He was working hard on cooking and told all of us that he actually has a lot of people coming in still from the show. Especially because Arashi's Nino-san came. The Hokkaido guys were shocked that Nino was here. lol do we didn't say we were Arashi fans (^_^;)
Then our food was ready.
First came the Suppon Udon.
and it was in the same pot that Nino's was because he only has one for the one person serving.
We tried it although we were hesitant...
and we were pleasantly surprised at how tasty it is!!
The Suppon is very soft and has no taste really but the soup was good!
Then the Fugu Karaage came next.
We got a few more pieces because of the way he cut it and I was totally nervous about eating it.
But I took the first bite and it was delicious!!
the meat is not as flakey as other fish but it's very tasty.
After looking at the Fugu hanging from the ceiling, we realized we were eating the tail.
We ended our meal with chahan which was soooo cheap and yummy!!!!
he made it fresh with onion, carrots, egg and bacon.
Then we were talking to the master for a while and I was really impressed by all the mountains he's climbed over the years. I was surprised to find out he's from a village in Gunma close to where I used to live! So after talking to him and his regulars for a while, I finally I admitted to being a Nino fan and he told me I should've said something earlier then went into one of his cupboards and brought this out:
He said he washed them before he put them in the bag but got embarrassed when he noticed there was mold in it. lol. Seriously a きたな美味しい店!! (^w^)
Then he gave us the awards again and told me to take my smart phone out and he took a picture for us with them.
When he handed them to us the first time, I noticed that Nino's signature wasn't there even though it was on the show, so this second time around I asked him about it and he told me that he had the one with Nino's autograph on it for a few months but then Nino's company told the station that it wasn't allowed and made them change it out. So the one he has now only has Taka-san's autograph on it. *shakes fist at JE*
We ate everything and had very happy tummies! It was a great meal that only costs 1100yen for both of us!!
After chit chatting for an hour we left and took more pix outside before heading to the station and grabbing some chocolate shakes before parting ways.
