The rain won’t stop, huh?
Ryutaro looks up-it’s dark, and it’s pouring again. He sighs, slinging his bag over his shoulder. He starts opening his umbrella, getting ready to brace the impact of the strengthening rain. As he walks in the middle of the pouring rain, someone inserts himself under Ryutaro’s umbrella, pushing him aside a little.
“Hey! What-“
Only, he is cut off when he sees it’s only Chinen, the latter’s hair dripping wet and clothes soaked. “Sorry, Ryu-chan. I left my umbrella in the dressing room and it’s too late for me to go get it now.”
Ryutaro sighs. “Fine. We head the same direction anyway.” He fixes his bag over his shoulder before walking again. He slants the umbrella over so Chinen wouldn’t get wet.
Chinen holds onto Ryutaro’s arm, smiling. “Thanks”
We’re almost home.
“Ryu-chan!”
A week later, Ryuatro stops in his tracks when he hears his name being called. He turns around to catch Chinen inserting himself under his umbrella again.
“Don’t tell me,” Ryutaro suggests. “You left your umbrella-“
“-at home,” Chinen finishes. “I’m sorry! I swear I’ll repay you back somehow.”
He looks up at Ryutaro when the younger replies, “It’s fine. Don’t worry.”
After a while, the sun comes out, and the rain stops. Chinen slides out of the umbrella, the sun blinding his eyes for a bit. “Thanks, Ryu-chan!” he says before running off. “I’ll be going now before the rain starts again! Sorry for the trouble!”
Ryutaro doesn’t get to reply. He just watches as Chinen races off. Sighing, he lowers his umbrella, and looks up at the sky smiling.
Today, I must tell you my feelings about how amazed I am…
…at how much I’ve fallen for you.
