[PROLOGUE]-[ONE]-[TWO]

CHAPTER THREE

“Who are you?” he asked again in a more intimidating voice, but instead of being frightened, the younger one stared at him smiling with eyes gleaming with something akin to amusement and excitement.

“Just who the hell are you?” Jin’s voice dropped into a tone full of wonder and curiosity.

--

Kame smiled. He loved seeing those fiery eyes directed to him. They excited him and for the first time in so many years, he felt his blood rushing, his heart pounding and his emotions awakening.

Kame frowned though when he felt the fingers giving more pressure.

Jin shifted closer, leveling his eyes on Kame’ brown ones, their noses almost touching

“Okay, now tell me who you are!” he barked.

Instead of answering, Kame flicked his tongue out and licked Jin’s lips making the other one gasp in surprise and back off staring at him shocked.

Jin stared at the young man in shock thinking what the hell the guy just did. However, Jin knew Kame shouldn’t have done that. No, he shouldn’t really have done that snapping the little self control that Jin was trying to have in those past days.

Jin flickered his eyes as Kame had a slight grin appearing on his youthful face.

Seeing that Jin wasn’t doing anything but stare at him in disbelief, Kame walked to Ueda’s desk and picked up the mirror to see how his neck was. He cursed seeing the red marks that Jin’s fingers left on his neck.

“Fuck, if Pi sees this he’s going to get mad…really mad.” Kame remembered the time when he had to sleep with the yakuza’s wife to get him to her husband. She left many scratches on his back that when Pi saw it he decided to kill the woman, too.

Kame was so engrossed looking at his neck that he yelped when he found himself being pulled, then pinned against the wall, both his hands on top of his head, with Jin hovering over him, his face just an inch away from his own.

“Jin…” Kame blinked staring at Jin who seemed to having an inside battle with himself.

“You shouldn’t have done that…” Jin whispered, his voice was different, it was hoarse and in Kame’s opinion, sexy.

“What did I do aside from hacking your damn system?”

Jin winced. The nerve Kame had admitting blatantly what he did. Jin closed his eyes trying hard to control himself and maybe the blood that was rushing more to his lower region than to his brain. He had long admitted to himself that he was so damn attracted to the young man who was, in his opinion, an evil seductress hidden behind an innocent face.

“Who are you?” Jin finally managed to ask for the nth time when he thought he had control over his raging hormones.

Kame couldn’t help but stare at those pouty, plump lips moving while the older man talked. Kame never before had the urge to kiss a man aside from Yamapi. He thought about how it would feel kissing them, nipping them between his own.

He was so much absorbed that he didn’t hear the words that came out those lips he was admiring until he felt his chin being lifted up: he was met by those fierce eyes ones again.

“I’m losing my patient here! Do you want to die!? Who the hell are you?” Jin was pretty much holding himself from shooting the guy and at the same time from ravishing him.

“Oh, me? I already told you, I’m Kazuya Kamenashi…” Kame answered innocently, looking at Jin like a five-year old kid who was being scolded wrongly.

Jin gaped not knowing what to do anymore.

“You…you…” Jin couldn’t believe  it. He shook his head as he stepped back, but glared at Kame who was smiling shyly and Jin wanted to smack himself.

“You! Sit down!” He growled pointing at nearer chair. Kame complied without a word.

Jin stood in front of him with crossed arms and a serious look on his face.

“Okay, I’ll ask you this calmly. Don’t even try to lie or I’ll kill you!” he glared down. Kame nodded.

“How did you come inside here? What’s your purpose? What do you want?"

Kame kept silent for awhile, while Jin studied him, trying to observe and see any indications of him lying.

“Well, I love playing with computers and…I got curious when I saw the door that leads here…so…I kind of hacked your system to be able to see what’s in here…” Kame mumbled, but looked at Jin with a straight face. Lying blatantly without regrets, Amen. Kame snorted inside.

Jin tried to think straight and finally decided to interrogate the other one calmly. He wanted to believe that Kame wasn’t a bad person. Jin pushed all his doubts and other feeling to concentrate on  Kame.

“Okay, now. So , you are telling me that you came down here out of curiosity?”

Kame nodded. It was true afterall, he was curious about that place.

“Tell me, how good are you with computers?”

“Eh?” Kame didn’t expect that question. He smiled inside. Jin was indeed a very interesting and unpredictable person.

“I don’t know…but I’m good enough since I was able to hack your security system.”

Jin nodded, an idea popping out his mind. It was crazy, but why not?

“Would you like to work with us? You’d be a great help to Junno and Tatsuya…”

“Eh?” It was Kame’s time to gape. He was expecting everything but this! Jin just asked him to work with them, didn’t he? Him working for the hunters? The sky might as well fall down.

“Well, it’s a little bit dangerous, I know…but…we will give our best to keep you out of danger, promise…” Jin mumbled.

“I’ll take good care of you…I’ll protect you…” Somehow, Jin felt his face turning hot like a highschool boy confessing to his first crush. Jin cursed. He was proposing a job and not confessing his love! Though the other reason why he suddenly came up with that proposal was because he wanted to know Kame more. There was something about him that kept on bothering Jin. He wanted to keep an eye on him and know the reason why Kame would always disappear and go to his brother whenever they had an important mission. To add to that, everytime, Jin would feel his presence. It might sound crazy, but Jin couldn’t help but think that Kame was always watching them.

“Think about it Kazuya…and if you work for us, you will have a right to access here and everything we have here…” Jin continued.

Kame just stared at Jin. Jin was the first person who told him he’d protect him aside from Yamapi and Jin didn’t even know him that much. Kame smiled. Then let the sky fall down.

“I think I’d love that…” Kame finally answered. He had many advantages by working with Akanishi and his friends. He could use them to take down the organization bit by bit, until that person would finally decide to show up again. Plus, Kame was looking forward to knowing Jin a little bit more. He giggled inside, trying not to show how happy he indeed was with Jin’s proposal.

“Glad to hear that. I’ve always thought that you are someone who has guts despite your innocent looks.”

Kame laughed at that.

Jin’s eyes fell on Kame’s neck noticing the marks he had left. A feeling of guilt invaded him. He leaned down and carefully, almost hesitantly tried to soothe those red marks with feathery touches.

“I’m sorry for this…I freaked out seeing someone here…I…I’m sorry.” He whispered, sincerity of his words was seen in his eyes.

Kame felt butterflies in his stomach. Jin was indeed a very interesting man: violent, yet so gentle, so cold, yet hid a warm heart. He hoped he would be able to stand beside the older man without wavering about his plans. Kame was afraid that Jin might change him and Kame didn’t want that, not until he granted the vow he had made to himself.

“It’s alright. Your reaction is quite normal and understandable. It’s also my fault…so, no need to apologize.” Kame mumbled covering his neck with his sweatshirt.

Jin sighed and both of them stayed in silent when they heard footsteps coming down.

“Jin…Kame-chan?” Junno’s eyes widen seeing their cook down there.

“What is Kame doing here, Jin?” Ryo asked and all eyes were on the two.

Jin heaved looking at his friends. He gazed at Kame who just stared at them without giving away any kind of reaction, not even of surprise or nervousness. I wonder why this guy is always so calm.

“Kame is an ex hunter. He didn’t tell us about it because…he thought it was unnecessary… the day we found him, he was escaping from a criminal he once put in jail…”

Kame raised his eyebrows while Jin looked back at him, his eyes clearly telling him to play along.

“Really?” Koki eyed Kame, obviously doubting about what Jin said.

Jin nudged Kame to talk.

“Uh…yeah…I’m good at computer and at hacking…” Kame tried to look embarrassed when all he wanted to do was laugh at the weird situation he was in.

“We’ll have a meeting about this matter. I just want to say that from now on, he’ll be working with us.” Jin cut in.

Junno and Ueda squealed happily since they were looking forward to having someone to help them.

Koki remained skeptical and Maru just smiled. Ryo on the other hand stared at Jin wondering what the other one was planning. Jin told him about his uneasy feelings regarding Kamenashi and Ryo did feel the same way. In those past weeks, he studied the guy a little bit more thoroughly and he had to say that Jin was right. Kamenashi wasn’t an ordinary person. Even the way he held the knives while cooking, it had nothing to do with being an excellent chef. The way he held them were more like dangerous, lethal. Ryo could tell that since his own weapons in the battlefield were usually swords and knives.

“Jin, are you sure?” Ryo couldn’t help but ask. Jin nodded at him, his eyes telling him not to worry.

Ryo nodded hoping that Jin had a great plan in his head.

“I saw the list you have…what’s that?”  Kame finally decided to speak. He might as well play along thru and thru.

Jin contemplated if either tell the younger one or not. He sighed once again and walked to Junno’s desk whose computer was already open.

“This is the list of the criminals we want to eliminate…” then he pointed at the number one.

“I want to catch this person…” Kame might not see Jin’s face, but he could tell that Jin hated that person with all his might.

Kame stood next to Jin and stared at the screen. There were many criminals on the list who he knew, most of them were from the organization.

“Shinegami…” Kame read the name where Jin’s forefinger was. There were no pictures or information about him aside from the description of his style of killing.

“We don’t have much information about him. It’s hard. The ones who saw his face were all dead. He never let anyone live after seeing him…his face…the only thing we know is his nickname, everyone call him shinegami coz he only brings death when he’s around.” Jin’s voice became harder as if he was trying not to shout.

“Why do you want him so badly?” Kame dared to ask and was surprised when Jin punched the table.

“He killed my family…he killed them in the cruelest way possible…I…”Jin gritted. The thought of them was still very painful, the memory of that day when he went home from his soccer training kept on hunting him. The fire enveloping their house, the trail of blood, the head of his brother on the doorstep, his mother’s naked body floating in the pool, his father’s body parts spread across the table, their maids’ burnt bodies…

How could he forget them?

Kame kept silent while staring at the monitor without even blinking.

“The only way to get him is to find these criminals first.” Then Jin pointed at one in particular.

“This one in particular is our main target. Rumor says that he is the closest one to Shinegami and the only one Shinegami trusts and lets stand next to him…”

Kame’s eyes harden.

Tomohisa Yamashita.
