Coming to Fanfiction Near You!
I have good news to report. My fanfiction progress has actually progressed! *_* (About damn time, right?). I’ve got three one-shots that have a very good chance of getting published between now and next month. Sorry to say that the stories are just short one-shots, but they’re better than nothing, and I’m pretty pleased with their results (I hope readers will be equally satisfied). Here’s a spoiler-free preview of what kinds of stories I’ll be publishing soon:
Pokemon Fanfiction
I’m trying something new, so this one-shot will be completely different from my previous Pokemon publications. The story takes place during the eighth Pokemon film, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. That movie’s tragic ending inspired me to write an angsty character study on Lucario, along with his relationships with Sir Aaron and Ash. I’m not planning to write many Movie 8 fics, but I wanted to make one little commemoration.
Approximately, my Pokemon one-shot is 90% finished, and it has the highest probability of being published the soonest. As with all my other Pokemon fics, this story will be published on my FanFiction.Net account.
Xenosaga Fanfiction
Originally, I wanted to write a Jr. & MOMO drama, but that story didn’t pan out as well as I hoped. In its place, I’ve written a completely different Jr./MOMO story - another one of my comical fanfics with serious undertones. My intention is to broach the Jr./MOMO pairing without sappiness, while also emphasizing MOMO’s true age. I’ve also found a way to squeak in additional (comical) cameos of some Xenosaga characters whom I almost never write about. It should be fun. ^^
Approximately, my Xenosaga one-shot is 75%-80% finished. However, with my Pokemon story near ready, I’ve been focusing much more time on finishing this fic. Like my other Xenosaga fics, this one-shot will be published on FFnet.
…And wait…I said I had three WIPs. What’s one-shot #3? *drum roll*
Supernatural Fanfiction
That’s right. I finally went there. Congrats to SPN for being the first fandom to break my Pokemon & Xenosaga exclusivity! But like I said, I’ve only got a little SPN one-shot, so let’s not get too excited here. The story stars Dean and Sam Winchester as little kids (“wee!chesters,” my favorite flavor!), brotherliness, Dean-angst, and Sammy-sweetness. Seriously, it’s just 1,000 words of SPN fluff, but I absolutely loved writing it. Who knows? My first SPN one-shot may the beginning of a beautiful friendship. *hopes*
Currently, I haven’t yet decided when/where I’ll publish my SPN one-shot. I have considered publishing it on both FFnet and here on one of LiveJournal’s SPN communities. I don’t belong to any SPN communities yet (though I do watch some), so I’m not even sure “where” I’d post the story just yet (me needs to do some research!). For the time being, I may just post the story right here on my LJ account, but I know that’ll limit its readers. I know FFnet has a huge SPN archive, too (so huge, it’s almost intimidating to join). All of this is still up in the air.
When is/are the earliest possible publication date(s) for these stories?
Right now, I’m aiming for all three of these one-shots to be published (individually or simultaneously) within the late September-October timeframe. Because life is always unexpected, I can’t set any release dates in stone. I’ll keep readers posted on my status.
