Fanfiction Progress: December 2014
It’s been a weird few months for me. Between computer troubles, job BS, winter weather, and the holiday hoopla I haven’t devoted much of myself to my fanworks. :/ Not to say they have been far from my mind, though. I’m still brainstorming and sketching random ideas and WIPs, but nothing’s ready for publication…not this month, anyway.
Thus, I’ve decided not to publish any more new material between now and the rest of December. Unless, of course, I get hit by one helluvan inspiration, but at this point I’d rather take my time instead of rushing anything I may regret later. So I’ve stuck a fork in my fanworks archives for 2014. Done! :D
The good news is I have been getting some fresh new, and quite promising ideas, for future stories. :) Ever since I got the new Pokemon Omega Ruby game not only have I been unable to put it down, but it’s also been flooding me with some interesting Pokemon fanfic ideas. And I’m talking about Pokemon fanfic ideas that last longer than just one chapter, too. But I won’t get too far ahead of myself until these ideas come into some semblance of fruition. The point is my troublesome little muse is still working.
In case you didn’t notice, my AO3 endeavor of writing adult Kuroshitsuji and/or Xenosaga fanfics didn’t exactly take off this year. The ironic part? My smut ideas absorbed perhaps the most amounts of my forethought and time in 2014, and I have absolutely nothing to show for it. I know. I know-I’m too friggen nitpicky. But I just can’t stand the idea of writing one of those nonsensical, OOC PWPs, either. I’ve hit the brakes on nearly every idea that’s popped into my head: “No way that’d happen!” or “Oh gimme a break!” See, I want to write sex with some semblance of a story, and that’s turning out to be a greater challenge than I ever imagined. And as I’ve mentioned in earlier entries, the pairings I’ve chosen for lemon aren’t the easiest to work with, either-my couples always seem to hate each other, or at least need a semi-believable reason to hop into bed together. Damn me and my obsession with love-hate relationships!! 2015 resolution: get my ass in gear and write an adult fanfic where the fcking happens between the characters, not the storytelling. ;P
There are still plenty of people whom I owe correspondence to, too, which is another reason why I’m taking the rest of this month off my own stuff. Reading other people’s work is another nice way to stir up the muse, you know. One person’s writing helps inspire another’s. The circle of life!
To everyone who supported me in 2014, thank you so much for everything! :) I hope I’ll be able to share more of my random yarns with you in 2015! :)
