I can’t believe half of July is over…hell, half the summer is over! O_O
For me, this month has been flying by…and I really don’t have much to show for it, either. ^^; Still job searching, still barely staying afloat in my current job, etc. I’ve still got my goal of finding landing a new job by the end of this summer, and damn…I’m kinda’ running out of time here! But I suppose if the first half of summer is done, that almost means I’ve still got the second half of summer to go (glass half full, yadayadayada). There’s still time, I guess (I’m finding little ways to keep my spirits up ^^;).
In the meantime, I’ve been earning some extra spending bucks selling all the old junk that’s been collecting dust in my room for eons, especially DVDs. I love my anime collection, yes, but it gets expensive and I’m resorting to rentals more and more. Furthermore, there were some DVDs I hadn’t watched in years, many of which I didn’t even enjoy in the first place. You know; you hear critics rave about a series, so you buy it, watch it, and then ask yourself, “Um…what was so great about this show again?” I hate it when that happens (especially when some of these DVD box sets cost pretty pennies). So I gathered up all those DVDs, traded them in, and put the credit towards a series I did like. The scary/ironic part is afterwards, I’ve noticed a considerable dent in my anime collection now - which tells me that I had quite a few series in my collection that I didn’t even like! O_O Do I really have that bad of taste?
My current obsession for the summer has been Kazuya Minekura’s Saiyuki saga. The first thing that attracted me was Minekura’s gorgeous art, second being the characters (loveable personalities, dark pasts, all packaged in the sexiest character designs *smirk*). Went straight to my favorites list! Love, love, love it!! I’ve even been checking out some Saiyuki fanfics/fanart, and man you artists kick ass!
Speaking of fanworks, my writing has slowed down on account of this summer’s humidity (I’m utterly useless in the heat. My energy drains immediately -_-). I did, however, get a burst of inspiration to draw a new Pokemon fanart, which I’m pretty pleased with. It’s still got some finishing touches to be done, but I’m confident in it that it’ll be ready for the internet soon…most likely sooner than my next fanfic (unfortunately). I’m still working on my current Pokemon WIP story, but like I said, the heat’s slowed me down (today’s temperatures are in the nineties!). I’ve also been working on a new Xenosaga one-shot, but it’s still got a little ways to go before completion. Hopefully my melted muse will revive itself when the heat simmers down in the near future.
That’s all for today! Stay cool, guys!
