i've mentioned previously that my company was
recently purchased (and i couldn't stop
talking about it).
today a small army of human resource managers will descend on our building to provide a 97 slide presentation about how our benefits are going to change.
at my current company, i accrue more paid time off than i actually use, meaning i have a bank of days equal to 1-2 months of work. i like knowing that if i left, i'd get a paycheck to cash me out of that paid time off. a little defered salary to hold me over while i switched jobs.
i won't be permitted to accrue that much pto in the new organization, so i guess i get a check without having to leave. i'm not sure what else is going to change, but i'm getting ready to deal with a lot of groaning and do some rabble rousing myself.
