In light of the FF characters coming together and talking about the similarities in their worlds, Hope's decided to maintain a journal to keep track of these things-- and maybe a little more? This wont be updated every day, but if Hope notices something new and thinks it will be relevant in the future, he'll definitely write it down.
This thing is an actual notebook in Pokémonland, and waterproof so Alexander wont be ruining this one like that old Trainer Handbook. If any of his party members and friends would want to find this journal (hey, it's not so hard, it's in his bag), please IM me o/
Each entry will be placed under a separate cut.
Entry #1 (written Oct. 13)
A few days ago I learned that chocobos and Eidolons aren't native only to Cocoon and Gran Pulse. That those other Eidolons can talk to humans any time they want and they don't need l'Cie to be summoned. Anyone can summon them as long as they're strong enough, and anyone can summon more than one if they're worthy. It's definitely not what I know; only one Eidolon to a l'Cie. Snow has two, but they're still considered one anyway.
Spells are the same too, and not just with this man. Ven knows some of the spells I know. I don't know what "Stop" is, but it sounds like "Slow". Everything else is just the same.
Bahamut = father of the Eidolons? If it’s the same in my world, I’m sure Fang would like that.
Odin = can be an adoptive father? Never heard of that. Might ask Light what she thinks.
Black spells = Fire, Aero, Blizzard, other elemental/attack spells
White spells = Cure, Fatih, Protect, other helpful spells
But where do Slow, Doom and Deprotect fall under?
Squall has a gunblade in his world, and he uses them the way Lightning does. The "gun" part anyway, as far as I’ve seen.
Ven once mentioned that he, Aqua and Terra can travel to other worlds with Keyblades. Sora said he cant do it, even if he uses a Keyblade, just a candy ship. That might mean only certain people can do it. Or only certain Keyblades.
One of these days I should ask Ven about the worlds he’s visited. I have a feeling our worlds and others are just in the same universe. Maybe neighbors? Maybe that’s why we have a lot in common.
I also need to look for that person who can see other worlds. He might know a few things. New, smiles a lot, knows about Pokémon already and stares at people he knows? It’s not helpful. I might make a post to the network about this. It might bring him out.
I wish we’d kept our powers in this place. Comparing would be a lot easier if we could demonstrate instead of explaining all the time. But then again, there wouldn’t be any point to raise Pokémon if everyone could fight each other directly. Johto would be a lot worse too. I’d better make use of what I have right now.
Entry #2 (written Oct. 17)
[This writing is unbelievably messy, not like his previous entry. Obviously someone's been trying to write this in the dark with only a Pokémon's light to go off on.]
Snow's been quiet for a while. It's not like him at all, even with all of the stuff that's been happening around. This guy, Vanitas, someone Ven, Aqua and Terra know is in Johto and we don't know where he is. Ven says he's dangerous, and of course I believe him. Minnie, another friend of Ven's, has been kidnapped and we're heading towards where she was last seen, Goldenrod city. It's a long way ahead, and I'm still not sure if we can catch up by then. It takes too long to travel on foot. It didn't seem like such a big deal back in Gran Pulse, but someone's life is at stake here.
Entry #3 (written Oct. 23)
Aerith and Aerith
Ven ad Roxas (?) - why does he look like Ven? He doesn't seem to be a part of him.
Vanitas and Sora (?) - why does he look like Sora if he's not a part of Sora?
Squall and Leon - Leon's older and changed his name. It's easier to tell them apart from anyone else.
Cloud and Cloud - different personalities, but both of them are quiet.
[this entry will be updated as long as there are more doubles coming into town :|b]
Entry #4 (written Nov. 5)
I've decided that Kai needs to find a new home. It's not exactly the best decision in the world, and it's not something I'm proud of making, but I think it's best for her. She's been falling behind lately, even though I've been paying attention to her. I don't know why, but she doesn't look like she's interested in fighting anymore.
I'd rather not put her in storage, because that would be worse for her, and she might think it's some kind of punishment for not fighting like everybody else. It's better for her to have someone who's not interested that much in fighting, or I'll let go of her, if no one wants to take care of her. I know she can take care of herself even without me around, but I'd just want to see if someone else would want her.
Entry #5 (written Nov.24)
I still feel guilty about lying, and maybe I should have told them that I was going out beforehand, but it's too late now. Hopefully the note's enough to make Light calm down until I get back.
When I was last at the Ruins, I didn't see anything but Hawkeye; I shouldn't be surprised that I didn't find anything about the Unown, since the world had changed. I might not have been able to see anything properly back then. I'm not hoping for any Unown this time, but I wouldn't mind if they come, as long as nothing bad happens.
Hawkeye will be out of his Pokéball the whole time, since I caught him there, and he may know things that I don't. He might be helpful.
I should definitely go to that tree after, just in case someone asks.
Entry #6 (begun Nov. 24, finished Dec. 4)
The tree [because he went there first] is definitely a Pokémon. Snow couldn't cut or burn it down, which means it's not a grass-type at all, and there are only a few types that can resist fire, meaning it's either ground or rock.
[Here there be transcripts of the things he's seen and taken pictures of-- they're in his PokéGear and not... really good quality. But still readable! The following lines are messy and smudged, as if written and erased several times, except for the smaller lines in the margins which are cleaner but smaller.]
"Our words shall remain here for ages" Definitely they've stayed.
"Thus we shall erect a Pokémon statue outside" I didn't see any statue; did it disappear after all these years? There are other statues inside though. Are these what they're talking about?
"They possess great insight and refuse the outside world" Who? Pokémon?
"We humans must learn to walk in harmony with them. We depart for their sakes" Did they kill themselves?
[The next are clean, and in ink this time-- musings about his adventure in the Ruins.]
From what Rika's told me, the Unown look like letters; the carvings on the walls were definitely letters, but different from what people use around here. They were more like eyes with lines sprouting out of them, and made me feel like I was being watched all the time. There's no doubt about it though; they're definitely pictures of the Unown, and the humans who wrote the sayings must have put up the Ruins for them. People must have based their writing system on the Unown, because they really do look like letters, and can form sentences if you read them carefully.
I didn't meet any Unown during my time there; either they didn't want to come out with a human around, or they're no longer there, if they ever lived in the Ruins in the first place. It's likely though, and they might have just moved on after years of living in the same place.
I just don't understand why the people who built the Ruins would go out of their way to make puzzles and trapdoors; they don't seem like they're hiding something. [scrawled in later in the margin next to the paragraph, hurriedly because he realized something] Unless they were protecting what they've written. It makes sense! Who wouldn't want to leave behind something for people to see in the future?
There were items in the Ruins that obviously didn't belong there; berries, stones, and even some kinds of powder. They might be important later, so I'm hanging onto them.
Entry #7 (written Dec. 1)
This time, the world didn't change; or at least, we don't remember it changing, if it ever did. It's more suspicious than all the other times, because this time, we don't remember a thing, or we remember them as dreams, and the one behind this isn't obvious at all.
I don't remember a thing, but Sora does. It's different for people, but it's all the same; we wake up and it's been three days. Something happened, and that something brought Rise, Sora and I to Goldenrod when it would have taken us at least two to three weeks to get here. Sora doesn't even have his Pokémon, and if I'm right, he's even seen Vanitas face-to-face.
What happened to me? What did I do, where did I go, who did I meet, things like that. That Vanitas person is the least of my worries right now, really, but I don't think I'll be able to get to the bottom of this right now as it is.
