Okay, so I had a pretty good weekend!
Friday I had my first 'real' editorial meeting for the Onion River wherein we chose the artwork (the text submssions are being chosen this weekend). It was a long meeting but a lot of fun. I like the group we have - people are always laughing and joking or whatever but it's also a smart, objective group as well. No one really lets their personal likes/dislikes get in the way of what they think is good for the magazine - I'm pretty pleased with what we've got so far.
Friday night, Matt O'Reilly stopped by with his girlfriend Jenny and we celebrated his 21st birthday
- that was great! I don't know those two so well but apparently Matt is really good friends with like everyone who lives in my house, so hopefully I'll see more of him because I had a lot of fun.
Then on Saturday I went shopping and bought two dresses and a belt to go with them - I love love love them! I also got sponge rollers for my hair, hairspray, red nail polish, restocked on some makeup that needed replacing...the only disappointment was when I went back on Monday to Brooks and was looking for Coty's Airspun Powder and they only had 'dark peach' colour, which is clearly not going to work on my pale-as-the-dead skin. (Maybe this summer...)
Speaking of summer! No real report to make about the North Carolina plan, but I'm optimistic. I need to call the guy back and ask some more specific questions about what if we can't be there immediately in the beginning of May, etc. I've been looking at possible jobs in the area and obviously there isn't anything available for summer yet, but there are some possibilities that I like (Fat Cat ice cream parlor, for one!)
Matt Walton showed up randomly on Monday night. I was sitting downstairs with Keeley and Joanna, watching tv, and he calls me: "Yo, so what are you up to tonight? Cause I'm in Montpelier, I'll be at your house in half an hour if I drive fast, and you better be there."
What a good night that was! We went many places we probably shouldn't have whilst drunk, including various dorms, the hospital (to use the ATM...at midnight) and Cumby's, for more beer of course. We also went to Burlington to go to this kid's apartment that Matt knows, hung out with them for a while.
Then yesterday, I luckily wasn't all that hungover, because Logan came over! He's also in the area, since he has this whole week off (lucky!), so he stopped by and we caught up on what's been happening since Christmas and I showed him the pictures from Abby's house and it was a lot of fun! Yay!
Then last night my entire house had a little bit of a meltdown; everyone was stressed and angry and frustrated about various things and so Joanna, Keeley and I had a bit of a shouting match downstairs where we weren't yelling at each other, but just yelling to vent. Then I came upstairs and had a good cry and ranted to my sister and Pat for a while and now I feel ten thousand times better. Sometimes I just get full to bursting, that's all.
Time for breakfast and more homework. I need to go to the gym...tomorrow.
