Quick update:

New Year's was fun, had some people over to have dinner and dress up for a while, then just hang out and sit around at my place until the ball dropped. I saw some people that I wasn't expecting to see (Tess and Hannah) which was really cool as I haven't seen Tess in ages.

I just got back today from a long weekend (Wednesday-Sunday) away wherein I went with Kelsey and Katie first to Connecticut and then to Philadelphia (well, suburbs of Philly, but same difference) to see Abby. So much fun! There are a lot of interesting pictures and video to back me up on this.

Yesterday was my favorite because we walked around Philadelphia the whole day, and the first thing we saw was The Magic Gardens which just set the happy mood for the rest of the day. Oh, and it was also 73! degrees outside which made walking around all kinds of fun. We wandered on South Street which is one of the busier areas in the city I guess. We also went to the Mutter Museum which is a medical museum of human deformity, where they have stuff such as babies swimming in formaldehyde-filled jars and wax models of just how wrong your face can look when you're not careful about who you sleep with and end up with syphilitic necrosis, and also a wall of skulls and a guy's skeleton whose bones started growing into muscle and tendons so he became like a friggin' living statue. It was creepy/awesome.
Then we went to dinner at a hookah bar called Byblos which was fantastic, reminded me a lot of Dobra but much more upscale and hip and pricey, but totally worth it. We smoked a rose/mint hookah after dinner which was the perfect precursor to the rest of the night where we just hung out at Abby's place and got our dizzy on.

We also went to IKEA! which is pretty much the best furniture store ever. Ever. It made me excited for the day when I'll have my own apartment to furnish and decorate as I choose.

In other news, Micaela apparently found out that I was looking for housing this semester and offered me the chance to live with her in one of the 100's townhouses, which I took her up on. It'll be weird having a roommate again but I'm excited to continue this theme of doing more independent housing and having more of a 'real-life' living situation than living in a dorm. I don't know what my other options would have been so it seems like this was a lucky break for me. I have no idea who the other girls in that townhouse are, though. This could be interesting but I'm mostly excited.

I'm glad to have an off night that I can just have to myself; Katie and Kelsey are on their ways home, Jeremy is busy tonight and the house is quiet. My immediate plans are dinner, laundry, tidying/rearranging my room, bath, book, bed. Mmm!
