Kyungsoo and Jongin find their way back home.

And I’ll smile inside to know you’re mine

There are pen marks on the surface of the old wooden table, writings that reveal the length of time it’s been sitting there in the middle of the café, where the door looks like it’ll fly off the hinges if someone accidentally slams it too hard. He traces the writings on the table with the tip of his fingers, recalling just how long it’s been since he’s actually been back here and how long it’s been since he’s actually sat in this particular chair, ordered, drank some milkshake and people-watched just like how he used to. Just like how they used to.

Two years probably is too long of a time. But for Kyungsoo, it was just enough time to get that teaching degree he’s always wanted and just enough time to finally experience living in the city. It was enough time to spread his wings and, maybe, see what else was out there. It was also enough time to figure out what he actually wants in his life.

He looks up at the slight ruffling of the wind breezing through his skin as the café door opens. He bites his lip, unable to help himself, because that’s what he does when he’s uncertain, and this is definitely something to be uncertain about. He watches as a tall, tanned male stops by the entrance, scanning the room with his dark and passionate eyes, running a hand through his silky black hair as he spots Kyungsoo. He feels his breath get caught in his throat when said male’s eyes lock with his. Definitely a time of uncertainty, but of longing as well. Because how else would you feel when the love of your life walks into the café where you guys fell in love and walks right back into your life?

“Hey.”

Kyungsoo fights to keep the smile on his face from spreading too much. “Hi… Hi Jongin,” he greets back.

Jongin slides into the seat across him and sits there, looking at him. Kyungsoo hasn’t really changed much over the time he’s been gone. He’s still short, tiny, and cute. His hair is shorter, cropped up, but that only makes him even more adorable in Jongin’s opinion.

“What do you want to order?” Jongin asks casually, glancing over at the counter for the menu, like they had always done in the past. “Oh, but you don’t drink coffee.” He smirks because the first time Kyungsoo drank coffee, Kyungsoo’s eyes had widened so comically and had coughed so horribly that Jongin, a nostalgic person, laughs all over again because, even now, it’s still one of the most memorable things in their relationship - it had happened when they first met.

Two mugs of steaming coffee in a to-go cup are subsequently placed on their table. They both look up and find Junmyeon, an old friend and the owner of the café, smiling at them. Junmyeon was a witness to their love story and both Jongin and Kyungsoo suppose that he’s just really happy to see them together, sitting at their old table.

“Well aren’t you two a sight for sore eyes,” Jongdae whistles, sauntering up to Junmyeon’s side, linking his arm with his. “When did you arrive, Jongin?”

“Just this morning actually,” Jongin answers. He gives Kyungsoo a questioning look, eyebrow raised.

“I’ve been here for a couple of days,” Kyungsoo shares, shifting somewhat uncomfortably in his seat. Jongin frowns because he remembers Kyungsoo telling him that he would arrive on the same day as him. “I had some stuff to sort out so I decided to come earlier,” he hastily explains.

Junmyeon and Jongdae exchange a snicker before Jongdae pats Jongin on the shoulder. “Well, we’ll see guys at the reunion,” he happily states. “Good to have you back, Kyungsoo.” The two males wink before leaving them, holding hands.

Kyungsoo fiddles with his coffee cup as Jongin watches him. “I drink coffee now,” he tells him. “All those all-nighters, I had to drink something to keep me up.”

“You could’ve called me,” Jongin prompts him, taking a sip of his coffee. He’s surprised when it tastes exactly as he used to take his coffee here back then. “That is if you still have my number.”

Kyungsoo merely gives him a smile. “We broke up, Jongin,” he reminds him, standing up and taking his hand. “Come on. Let’s go around town.”

-

“So,” Jongin begins a new conversation as they walk down the sidewalk, his hands in his pockets. “Baekhyun said something strange the other day.” He glances at Kyungsoo, who’s interestedly looking through the shop windows.

“When has Baekhyun not said anything strange?” Kyungsoo chuckles.

“Well, this one,” Jongin laughs awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck, “pretty much is the strangest thing he’s said to me ever since I’ve known him.” He kicks a stone and it goes bouncing ahead of them.

Kyungsoo then turns his attention to Jongin, curious. “What did he say?”

“He said something about my dreams getting fulfilled this reunion,” Jongin blushes and he turns away to cough in an effort to hide them.

Kyungsoo smiles because he has always thought that Jongin was so cute when he’s embarrassed about something. “Well, that’s a good thing, right?” he says, hoping to help Jongin out of his embarrassment. “What’s this dream that he’s talking about, anyway?”

“Well…” Jongin hesitates. “Most of my dreams involve, uh,” he scratches the back of his neck again, “you,” he finally blurts out and starts coughing again.

Kyungsoo bursts out laughing. “You’re sweet,” he tells him. “I suppose you would tell Baekhyun all these dreams because he is your best friend.”

“Not-not all,” Jongin corrects. “But… but you know it.” Kyungsoo gives him a curious look. “I still… that question I asked two years ago, you still haven’t answered it.” Jongin clears his throat, but forces himself to keep on looking at Kyungsoo. “I’m still waiting.”

Kyungsoo stops walking, in the process of taking his phone out, and blinks at him. “It’s been two years, Jongin,” he points out. “You can’t possibly still want to--”

“I do,” Jongin cuts him off and blushes at his eagerness. “I mean, yes, I still want to. Even if you broke up with me. I think I’ll always want to be married to you.”

This time it’s Kyungsoo that blushes. “Well, uh,” he clears his throat and bows his head to let his blush subside. “That’s…”

“I’m not pushing it upon you now,” Jongin hurriedly assures him, taking a deep breath. “I mean, this is the first time we’re meeting in two years and I don’t want you to think that’s all I’ve been thinking about since we broke up, but, uh, I just want to say that I still do think about it and always wonder what if-“

Kyungsoo gently grabs his arm to stop him, a small smile on his face. “Jongin, you’re babbling.”

“Sorry,” Jongin mumbles. His shoulders hunch and Kyungsoo suddenly has the urge to reach out and wrap his arms around him.

“We can always talk about this later,” Kyungsoo promises him.

“Later,” Jongin repeats, blinking at the hope presented to him. He smiles.

Kyungsoo chuckles because Jongin’s face is an open book, something he’s glad hasn’t changed. “Right now, we’re going shopping!” he then announces, pulling Jongin into a clothing store.

-

“I don’t think the reunion needs to be so formal,” Jongin carefully tells Kyungsoo, who’s trying on a three-piece suit.

“I have this formal teaching engagement next month,” Kyungsoo tells him, his eyes on his reflection on the mirror. He looks at himself for a second then shakes his head. “Three-piece suits never really suited me.” He starts taking it off. “You should try one, though.”

Jongin is in the middle of opening his mouth to tell Kyungsoo that he does look good when Kyungsoo’s sentence registers in his head. “What?” he asks dumbly. “Why?”

“Don’t you have to attend formal recitals or something?” Kyungsoo reminds him, stepping back into the dressing room so he could change back into his own clothing.

“Well,” Jongin thoughtfully muses. “We do. But I normally wear the performance outfits since I’m mostly the one doing the recitals.”

Kyungsoo pokes his head through the dressing room curtain. “Just pick a suit, Jongin,” he directs. “I’ve seen that outfit that you call formal wear and it looks like something your father wore for his own wedding.”

“Hey, that’s a good suit,” Jongin frowns. But he grudgingly stands up and goes over to the rack to pick out a suit. He supposes that it is a good investment to have one, especially for whatever formal events he may need to attend in the future. “I don’t know why we’re going suit shopping on the first day we meet in two years.”

“We’re catching up,” Kyungsoo tells him as he steps out back in his own clothing. “Don’t you remember? We used to sneak in here and try out those neckties and bowties, practically strangling ourselves with it.” He grins at the memory.

Jongin laughs as he steps into the dressing room with a suit in hand because he does remember. “It was for Chanyeol’s mom’s wedding, right?” He laughs again because he’s pretty sure that he was the one who almost strangled Kyungsoo when he was trying to knot the necktie around his neck. “That was a very interesting wedding.”

“Only because we caught Chanyeol and Baekhyun making out on the terrace,” Kyungsoo giggles.

They were in their last year of high school and Chanyeol forced his friends to attend his mom’s second wedding with him. As boys who have nothing better to do and who never say no to free food and the possibility of getting to drink alcohol, they agreed. It was quite an event, with Chanyeol knocking down a bottle of wine and staining some guest’s dress, Jongdae making a mess with his dancing on the dance floor, and then there was Chanyeol and Baekhyun going at it outside the ballroom.

Kyungsoo still remembers stopping in his tracks at the sight with Jongin running straight into him and wrapping his arms around him to steady himself. He also remembers that it took a while for Jongin to remove his arms around him. He figures he was in too much of a shock.

“How do I look?”

Kyungsoo looks up from his phone when Jongin steps out, arms wide open. Kyungsoo giggles when Jongin even does a twirl.

“Three-piece suits do wonders for you,” Kyungsoo says approvingly. He takes a quiet deep breath because, all of a sudden, he wants to run up to Jongin and kiss him. Coughing, he blinks the thought away. “I think you should wear that tomorrow,” he suggests, “show everyone what a dashing artiste you are.”

Jongin looks at his reflection on the mirror, turning this way and that to make sure that the measurements were perfect. “Maybe I should,” he hums and turns to face him. “Only if you wear your suit.” He nods towards one of the pairs that he’d tried earlier.

Kyungsoo rolls his eyes and nods at the saleslady. “How did you even function without me?” he teases. He freezes at Jongin’s answer.

“Not very well.”

-

“What are we doing now?” Jongin asks once they’ve put their suits in Kyungsoo’s car parked in front of the coffee shop.

“We walk that way,” Kyungsoo points at the opposite direction of where they just came from. He links his arms with Jongin’s as they start on their way. “So tell me about dance school.”

“It’s really great,” Jongin breathes excitedly and Kyungsoo tightens his hold on Jongin’s arm. “I never had so much fun studying in my life,” he adds, chuckling. He then continues on to tell Kyungsoo about the different dances that he’s learnt, all the classes that he’s been taking and his instructors.

Kyungsoo smiles and listens attentively. He doesn’t think he’s ever seen Jongin this alive and happy about anything, except maybe that time when he finally agreed to be Jongin’s boyfriend. He blushes at the thought and immediately bows his head because if Jongin sees, he’ll definitely ask about it. It may be a smug thought, but he can only say such because being Jongin’s boyfriend is one of the happiest days of his life as well.

He’s laughing at a blooper that had happened in one of Jongin’s classes when he rapidly comes crashing to Jongin’s chest, squished by another warm body. He closes his eyes, trying to let the tiny bit of pain of crashing into a solid body subside, when he becomes overly aware that he’s pressed up against Jongin.

He pushes himself off and turns to glare at whoever is the cause of this.

“Chanyeol,” Kyungsoo growls at him.

Chanyeol merely beams and, beside him, Baekhyun grins as well. “You guys are together!” Chanyeol animatedly croons with his deep voice. “Baekhyun and I were just reading your text and-“

“We were really looking forward to seeing you,” Baekhyun interrupts, slapping Chanyeol’s back. “We just ran into Kris and Tao on the way here. I think Lu Han and Yixing just checked into the hotel.”

“Why is everyone here early?” Jongin wonders aloud. “Doesn’t Lu Han have a really busy schedule? I met up with him in one of his tours and he didn’t even have time to hug me and chat.”

“Well this is obviously an event important enough for him to be here early. We haven’t seen each other in years,” Baekhyun shrugs, glancing at Kyungsoo and at their linked arms. “Well, where are you guys off to?” he asks, changing the subject.

“Just to the restaurant up ahead,” Kyungsoo tells them. “You guys want to come with us? We can have lunch together.”

“Sure!” Chanyeol and Baekhyun chorus.

Baekhyun smirks at Jongin’s obvious frown. It was clear that he wants to spend time with Kyungsoo by himself.

-

When they arrive at the restaurant, Baekhyun immediately scoots into one of the booths, followed by Chanyeol while Kyungsoo and Jongin take a seat beside each other. Baekhyun takes charge of the orders, ordering a variety of meals. When the waiter leaves, Jongin is staring at Baekhyun.

“What,” Baekhyun questions his staring.

“There’s only four of us,” Jongin states.

“And?” Baekhyun presses.

“You ordered for like a-nevermind,” Jongin looks out the window and absently reaches for Kyungsoo’s hand to play with it. “Who else is coming tomorrow?”

“Pretty much everyone,” Chanyeol says, munching on the peanuts that the server brought earlier. “No one would miss this for the world.” Baekhyun slaps his hand then rolls his eyes when some salt is left on Chanyeol’s face. He reaches for a napkin and wipes Chanyeol’s mouth for him.

When the food arrives, Jongin finds that Baekhyun had really ordered so much more than for four people. There’s Kimbap, Japanese sushi, raw fish and vegetables over rice with red pepper paste, cooked beef and vegetables over rice, Galbi, and Banchan. All of these with chilled roasted barley tea.

“We’re never going to finish all of these,” Kyungsoo gives Baekhyun a pointed look. To which Baekhyun merely gives him a sweet smile for.

“Chanyeol will finish everything,” Baekhyun says, turning to his boyfriend. “Right, Chanyeol?”

“Uhuh,” Chanyeol answers, nodding as a piece of vegetable falls out of his mouth.

Baekhyun rolls his eyes again and hands a napkin to Chanyeol. “In the meantime, you should taste everything,” he says, poking Jongin in the arm. “You look like you’re going to pass out. Eat something.”

Kyungsoo looks at Jongin and frowns. The younger male does look slightly paler. “Did you not eat breakfast?” he asks softly.

Jongin smiles sheepishly and shakes his head. “I’ve gotten into the habit of not eating breakfast,” he tells him guiltily. “I wake up really early to jog before classes. Plus, I don’t really know how to cook so…”

“But you love breakfast!” Kyungsoo is very surprised because he remembers Jongin always being excited for breakfast.

“Only because you make it and-“ Jongin coughs because he’s revealed too much again. He’s got to do something about his mouth. They haven’t seen each other in two years. It wouldn’t do him any good if he scares Kyungsoo away so easily. He clears his throat. “Anyway, yeah, not really a breakfast person anymore.”

“If I make you breakfast again from here on out, will you try to be a breakfast person again?” Kyungsoo asks, which makes Jongin blush to the roots of his hair because the thought of Kyungsoo making him breakfast everyday again just makes him think of things that he knows Kyungsoo isn’t ready for.

“How will you do that?” Jongin asks instead because he’s sure it’s impossible for Kyungsoo to do that since they’re living in different cities.

“I’ll mail them or coerce Baekhyun make you one if I have to,” Kyungsoo resolutely states, knowing that Jongin and Baekhyun live near each other. Jongin looks at Baekhyun, who’s giving both of them a really weird happy smile. Meanwhile, Chanyeol splutters in indignation.

“But Baekhyun only makes breakfast for me!” Chanyeol interjects, pointing at Kyungsoo who blinks at his violent reaction. “No, Baekhyun cannot make Jongin breakfast! I don’t care if they’re best friends! Besides, you-“

“Shut up, Chanyeol,” Baekhyun tells him good-naturedly and Chanyeol pouts. “So,” he turns to Jongin, “is the food good or what?”

Jongin nods as he stuffs himself because he is hungry and because Kyungsoo cooking for him is doing too much for his insides. “I especially like the Galbi.”

Baekhyun smiles happily. “Told ya.”

-

“Man, I’m stuffed!” Jongin groans as he rubs a hand over his belly. “I can’t believe Chanyeol forced dessert on us!” He makes a face as he remembers Chanyeol practically shoving a piece of Duk in his mouth. “Why are we friends with them again?”

After lunch, Baekhyun and Chanyeol skipped off to who knows where, leaving Kyungsoo and Jongin to walk off their added weight. Kyungsoo suggested that they walk back to the coffee shop and make a stop at the music store on the way.

“That’s like asking why I’m friends with you,” Kyungsoo chuckles.

“That’s different,” Jongin waves him off. “You love me-“ Jongin claps both of his hands on his mouth and gulps, eyes wide. His heart is pounding in his chest. What is with him today? He knows this is the first time he’s seeing Kyungsoo in a long time, but that doesn’t excuse all the declarations of love a.k.a. verbal vomit that he’s been springing on him. He surreptitiously glances at Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo is watching him with a twinkle in his eyes. He merely takes Jongin’s hand in his and tugs him into the music shop.

“So, if you had a song for me,” Kyungsoo coyly changes the subject, “what would it be? And please don’t say Angel by EXO. I know you love that group but seriously, no.”

Jongin pouts. “They’re a good band! They-“

“They’re not a band, Jongin,” Kyungsoo heavily exclaims. “They’re a boy band, who dance in fancy, glittery outfits and use their body waves to attract fans.” He makes a face at the thought and even shudders.

Jongin manages to laugh and instead settles on a small smile. “But that Kai dude is hot. Seriously. And then there’s D.O,” he sighs teasingly, watching Kyungsoo shudder again.

“Stop, we are not going back to your EXO phase,” Kyungsoo ends the conversation and starts browsing through the stacks of CD’s. He still remembers Jongin trying to dance to MAMA and History and making a mess out of his apartment because his posters kept on falling off the walls.

“Fine,” Jongin gives in and stops teasing him even though it was so fun. “Anyway, you know what my song for you is. It hasn’t changed.”

Kyungsoo follows Jongin around the store, wondering what he’s talking about. When Jongin finally plucks a CD, he walks to the counter and asks the lady to play track 12 with a handsome smile on his face. Kyungsoo rolls his eyes because Jongin is such a charmer.

Kyungsoo stands there and waits for the song. When the first few acoustic notes come in, he swiftly turns to look at Jongin, eyes wider than usual.

“You didn’t-“

“How can I forget,” Jongin saunters up to him and takes him in his arms, only jokingly. But when Kyungsoo leans into him, his head resting on his shoulder, he instantly wraps his arms around him, swaying to the song.

We are gonna build a life together
You and I for ever and ever
And we'll, we'll make babies on the beach
Under the stardust
And I'll hear your voice come through the door
A thousand times, maybe more
And I'll smile inside to know you're mine
Completely

Kyungsoo closes his eyes because he’s strangely starting to feel teary-eyed. Two years. Two years. He can’t fathom the idea that Jongin hasn’t forgotten about this song. It has been even longer since he’d sung it to him at a god-awful recital so many years ago. He dedicated it to him, but back then, he and Jongin weren’t even together yet. They were dancing around each other, waiting for the other to make a move. And yet, after all these years, it remains to be their song for each other.

“Do you know how lovely you are?” Jongin sings along. “In the starlight, in the starlight of my heart.”

Do you know how lovely you are? In the moonlight, in the moonlight of my heart, Kyungsoo sings along in his head.

When the song ends, Kyungsoo pulls away. “You the worst, you know that?” he tells him, eyes shining with tears.

“I know,” Jongin laughs, arms still around Kyungsoo. “Didn’t make you love me any less,” he knowingly adds.

“Doesn’t,” Kyungsoo quietly corrects him. Jongin stills in front of him, eyes searching his. “Doesn’t,” he repeats, “make me love you any less.” He swallows nervously. “Even your disgusting adoration for EXO doesn’t do that. I think I can handle this.” He laughs and starts to pull away, but Jongin stops him.

“Kyungsoo,” Jongin forces him to meet his eyes, a question in them.

“Jongin, do you really want to?” Kyungsoo asks in return. “I mean, if we fly to Vegas right now, will you be willing to?” He chuckles jokingly.

“I don’t care,” Jongin insists. “I’ve always seen you as a part of my life and-“

“Okay stop,” Kyungsoo raises a hand. “Save the cheesiness for your vows.” He squeezes out of Jongin’s arms and runs out of the music store before Jongin registers what he just said and runs after him.

-

Jongin looks at Kyungsoo’s hotel door then looks down at his hand clasped together with Kyungsoo’s. It has been an amazing day. It’s like a whirlwind romance because it was like meeting Kyungsoo for the first time, getting to know each other and falling in love all over again.

“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow,” Kyungsoo breaks into his thoughts. There’s a bright smile on his face and Jongin just knows that Kyungsoo enjoyed the day as much as he did.

Jongin squeezes his hand. “I had a great time,” he sincerely tells him. “Thank you.” Kyungsoo rolls his eyes in an effort to downplay the cheesiness. “Don’t roll your eyes at me. You know you had fun, too.”

“So what if I did?” Kyungsoo returns with another eye roll. “It doesn’t give you the right to be cheesy right before-“

Jongin takes the opportunity to shut Kyungsoo up with a kiss, one that had been coming their way for a long time. He’s always wondered what it would be like when he and Kyungsoo meet again after a long time of being apart, after trying to find a place in the world for themselves. Now that they’re here, he finds that he can’t regret anything, because Kyungsoo is right. They needed that time for themselves before they could have time for each other.

“No cheesiness right before the wedding, I know,” Jongin says when he pulls away. “But I can’t help it.”

Kyungsoo is having a hard time breathing. Not just because Jongin kissed him, but because their whole day together has been perfect. There are a lot of things that he wants to tell Jongin, but he wants to wait for a better time.

“Good night, Jongin,” Kyungsoo smiles up at him, face glowing with happiness. “See you tomorrow?”

Jongin smiles as Kyungsoo leans up to kiss him again.

-

There is incessant knocking on Jongin’s door and all Jongin wants to do is shoot whoever it is that’s bothering him and his precious sleep. It’s been a really long time since he’s slept in and no one is allowed to take it away from him now. Except maybe Kyungsoo.

Jongin shoots up at this and hurries to the door. He’ll allow Kyungsoo to wake him up like this any time. But when he opens the door, it’s not Kyungsoo.

“I hate you,” Jongin groans as he makes his way back to the bed and buries his face in his pillow.

“Of course you’re not dressed!” Baekhyun whines as he barges into the room. “Do you know what time it is?”

“Time for you to leave me and my sleep alone,” Jongin says, voice muffled. He really hates Baekhyun. He was having a nice dream about Kyungsoo.

“Get up, Jongin!” Baekhyun gets on the bed and kicks him. When Jongin doesn’t move, he starts jumping up and down on the bed.

It’s at this moment that Chanyeol enters. He freezes in his tracks and stares. “What are we doing?” There’s a suspicious lilt in his voice that Baekhyun immediately notices.

“I’m trying to wake Jongin up,” Baekhyun says, inviting him to join him on the bed. Chanyeol immediately beams when Baekhyun gives him a kiss as soon as he climbs up.

They start jumping up and down on the bed and Jongin feels like crawling out of his skin and throwing up at the same time. Baekhyun smirks because he knows this is the only way Jongin is going to wake up.

“OKAY!” Jongin yells, sitting up with his hair sticking in all directions. He’s still bouncing up and down because Chanyeol is still jumping even though Baekhyun has stopped. He grabs Chanyeol’s ankle and pulls. “I SAID OKAY!” Chanyeol falls back first onto the bed with an oof as Jongin gets into the shower.

“You have twenty minutes! Your suit’s in the closet!” Baekhyun calls to him before climbing on top of Chanyeol and making out with him.

-

Jongin meets Kyungsoo outside the closed door of the venue. He’s spotted Lu Han and Kris earlier in the lobby before the two went ahead to find Tao and Yixing, as well as their other friends. He reaches up to fix his bowtie before Kyungsoo grabs his hands and fixes it for him.

“How are you feeling?” Kyungsoo quietly asks him.

“Fine. I just really want to stab Baekhyun and Chanyeol right now. They made out on my bed!” Jongin tells him, looking up and shooting daggers at Baekhyun and Chanyeol, who are outside of the venue as well. Kyungsoo chuckles shortly and Jongin frowns. There’s a nervous vibe emanating from him. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah,” Kyungsoo hurriedly assures him. “Just…” He takes a deep breath once he’s finished fixing Jongin’s bowtie. “It’s later now.”

“What?” Jongin dumbly asks.

“It’s later now,” Kyungsoo repeats, prompting him about his earlier promise. “I want to talk about us getting married.”

Jongin blinks in surprise. “O…kay,” he responds slowly, confused. “What about it? I’m not backing out, you know. It’s not something I’ve decided in one night, it’s not something that-“

“Jongin, shut up,” Kyungsoo interrupts him. He suddenly giggles when he grabs Jongin’s hand. “Will you marry me?”

“Didn’t we just-“ Jongin starts to say, but closes his mouth when Kyungsoo glares at him. “Yes, you know I will. Anytime, in a heartbeat.”

Kyungsoo nods, glancing at the door of the venue before looking back at him. “Well how about now?”

“What do you mean?” Jongin asks, searching Kyungsoo’s eyes.

“You said you’d marry me in a heartbeat,” Kyungsoo reminds him hopefully, dropping Jongin’s hand and playing with his own. “I’m asking you if you want to marry me now.”

Jongin’s eyes widen as he finally pieces everything together. “What-now?” The suit, the food, the music, everything. He can’t believe he didn’t notice a thing.

“Just say yes, you dimwit!” Baekhyun yells at him. “You can’t say no because I slaved away trying to make things perfect!” Chanyeol puts an arm around him to calm him down, but there’s an obvious expression of distress on his face because Jongin is stressing his Baekkie out.

Jongin looks into Kyungsoo’s eyes that are watching him nervously. He gently takes both of Kyungsoo’s hands in his and leans towards him. “Yes,” he enunciates every word. “I will marry you, Do Kyungsoo.”

A beautiful smile paints Kyungsoo’s face and Jongin leans forward even more so he can kiss him. But before he can do so, Chanyeol’s gangly arms are pulling Kyungsoo away.

“No kissing before the wedding,” Chanyeol seriously states. “The bride and groom shouldn’t even see each other before the wedding. You’re violating all sorts of rules. It’s bad luck.”

“Chanyeol, let me go,” Kyungsoo grumbles, trying to break free. “There’s no bride here!”

“Sorry no can do,” Chanyeol firmly declares, shuffling Kyungsoo into the venue. All Kyungsoo can do is give him an apologetic but happy smile.

“See you later?” Kyungsoo calls before the door closes on them.

“See you later,” Jongin says back, beaming.

Baekhyun rolls his eyes. “You two are the cheesiest,” he complains. “No one would think you two haven’t seen each other for two years with the way you act. It’s really gross.”

Jongin gives him a pointed look. “Says the one who makes out with his boyfriend on every possible surface,” he snaps. “Now that’s gross.” Baekhyun has the decency to look sheepish before handing Jongin a piece of paper. “What is this?” he then asks.

“Your vows,” Baekhyun then pats his shoulder. He smiles because he knows from Jongin’s expression of recognition that he remembers dictating to Baekhyun his vows for when he and Kyungsoo get married. “Didn’t I tell you? All your dreams are coming true today.”

Jongin thinks Baekhyun is right. He feels overwhelming bliss when he steps into the venue. Everyone stands up from their seats, all their family and friends who’ve all come home just for him and Kyungsoo, as the music starts playing at his entrance. It doesn’t even matter that he’s the one marching down the aisle, acting as the bride. There’s a sense of completion, of fulfillment, and of coming full circle. And when he sees Kyungsoo at the end of that walk, face bursting with joy and excitement and love, he thinks it’s all worth it.

Author's Notes:
First fic of the year. Started this in October as something for a fic contest but I forgot about it and I lost the plot along the way. Then I went to my friend's wedding the other day and I just started having all these feels. I cried so much at that wedding and I just wanted to write something fluffy. So now you have this. I hope it serves its purpose.

The title of the song I used to The Wedding Song by Angus and Julia Stone. It's a really pretty song.

Big big BIG thanks to starsthatlast for beta-ing this. She made this so much better and I learned so much from her while she was reading and editing through this. She's seriously incredibly awesome. I don't even know how to thank her properly. >< Thank you, Pei!! I owe you a lot. ♥

So... I hope you like this? Comments/suggestions are welcome. :)
