Daydream Part 3

Part 2

-

Jongdae tried to forget what had transpired that night. As much as it had made hope bloom into his heart, he also knew that it was false hope. There wasn’t much he could do in that respect and figured that his best option was to accept that this was how things were going to be between them and move on with his life.

So he focused on work. His new album was doing well on the charts, his new song being the catalyst. There was nothing he was better at than diving into work to forget other things. That, and his friends were good help, too.

Baekhyun stretched himself on Jongdae’s bed, sighing loudly as he stared at the nicely decorated ceiling. “I’m bored!” he whined.

“I’m busy,” Jongdae replied uncaringly without looking up from what he was writing.

Baekhyun let out a disgruntled hmph as he decided to wrap himself in Jongdae’s snug sheets, burying himself underneath all the fluffy pillows. Jongdae watched Baekhyun mess up his immaculately set up bed and decided against standing up and pulling him out of his room by the ankles. He knew Baekhyun wouldn’t want to be killed without a fight.

“You’ve never let me sleep in your bed before,” Baekhyun’s muffled voice carried towards him. Jongdae smirked at this. “I can see your smirk underneath all the layers that I’m in,” he added. “I didn’t mean it like that!”

“I’m sure you didn’t,” Jongdae teased.

Baekhyun sat up and scoffed. “So if I did, what would you do about it?” he challenged.

“Are you being serious?” Jongdae asked, eyebrow raised.

“What if I am?” Baekhyun defiantly pressed.

Jongdae put his pen down slowly and stood up. “You better be sure you know what you’re asking for,” he told him as he removed his sweater.

He made his way towards the bed, stopping when the edge touched his knees. Baekhyun was huddled underneath all the blankets in the corner, and, like this, Jongdae couldn’t help but think about how he still looked like a little boy without all of the fanfare of make-up. But there was a hint of mischief in his eyes and Jongdae remembered that they weren’t children anymore.

He unhurriedly clambered onto the bed, knees pressed onto the mattress and Baekhyun tried to scoot even further into the corner without falling off. There was still a challenging look in his eyes.

Suddenly, Jongdae lunged at him and Baekhyun squealed with laughter as Jongdae found all of his ticklish spots. Baekhyun flailed around as Jongdae straddled his hips and mercilessly tickled him to death. Jongdae found that this was a much more fun punishment than pulling Baekhyun off his bed by his ankles.

Jongdae relished in the power that he had over Baekhyun. But he enjoyed the laughter that was bubbling out of the both of them even more. It had been quite a while since they’d hung out like this, like they were children and pretty much had no cares in the world.

“I resent the fact that I am not a part of that.”

Jongdae froze and Baekhyun stopped thrashing around to look towards the door. Lu Han was resting against the doorway, arms crossed over his chest.

“Well what are you waiting for?” Baekhyun urged him impatiently.

Lu Han wasted no time in jumping on the bed and joining in the tickle massacre. He took Jongdae down and pressed his weight on him. Baekhyun sat up, breathing heavily, relieved from the reprieve and joined Lu Han in poking Jongdae everywhere.

“Hey! Why was I not invited!” Kyungsoo was pouting, almost looking like he really was hurt. But Jongdae knew it was all part of his innocent act.

“Get up here!” Lu Han waved him over. “Jongdae still hasn’t had enough.”

“You’re all in my house!” Jongdae yelled as he kicked Kyungsoo, whose hands were working on soles of his feet. “You can’t…” And his mock umbrage trailed away into raucous laughter.

Later on, the blankets were scattered on the floor with some of the pillows following in their wake. They lied down on the disarrayed bed side by side with Lu Han and Jongdae occupying the outer sides and Kyungsoo and Baekhyun in the middle.

Jongdae turned to his side, smirking at Baekhyun, who looked so out of breath and tired. Jongdae felt tired himself. Now he knew that tickling really wasn’t an activity for the older generations. It required a lot of energy and stamina.

“I feel like I’m going to get sick,” Kyungsoo muttered, groaning as he moved his neck. Jongdae and Baekhyun burst into simultaneous laughter. That was pretty much their fault. Somewhere in the middle of the chaos, they had both decided to attack Kyungsoo’s neck.

“Me too, actually,” Baekhyun admitted. “I feel like I was hula-hooping on every part of my body.”

“I feel like I ran a marathon,” Jongdae agreed.

“I feel fine,” Lu Han announced. Jongdae sat up and grabbed the nearest pillow on the floor and threw it on Lu Han’s face. Lu Han retaliated by grabbing the said pillow and smacking him back with more force.

The pillow fight turned into something more than just a simple slapping of pillows. Lu Han and Jongdae ended up standing on the bed, each with a pillow, trying to push the other off the bed, both careful not to step on Kyungsoo and Baekhyun, who were frozen in fear of being trampled on.

“I think I’m going to break up with Junmyeon.”

Kyungsoo’s voice was loud enough and so clear that even when Lu Han managed to topple Jongdae down, Jongdae didn’t even notice. Baekhyun sat up, gripping Jongdae’s hand tightly, and turned to Kyungsoo, who was still on his back.

“What do you mean you’re breaking up with Junmyeon?” Baekhyun asked.

“I mean, I’m going to tell him that we should stop seeing each other because…” Kyungsoo sighed. “Because I’m still in love with Jongin. And I know that it’s horrible,” he immediately continued, glancing at Lu Han, who had sat back down as well, biting his lip, “but I can’t help it.” He played with his hands. “I miss him and I don’t think I can’t see anyone when I still feel like this for him.”

Jongdae looked up and found Baekhyun’s eyes on him. He’d never really opened up to him, but, somehow, he knew that Baekhyun knew about what was going on. Kyungsoo looked like he meant what he said, about stopping to date Junmyeon, but Jongdae could tell that he was also sad about it.

“But what if Jongin doesn’t come back?” Jongdae heard himself say. “Are you just going to let Junmyeon slip through your fingers?” He ignored Baekhyun’s fingernails drilling holes into his wrist.

Kyungsoo hesitated just then and Jongdae knew that Kyungsoo really liked Junmyeon but was just torn about waiting for a past that may or may never return. Jongdae didn’t mean to be a martyr about the whole thing. He believed it was just fair for Kyungsoo to have his own chance at happiness. He may have had something with Suho, but Kyungsoo met him fair and square. Jongdae didn’t have the right to take Junmyeon away from him.

“You can’t put your life on hold because of the past, Kyungsoo,” Jongdae pressed, looking at Lu Han, who was strangely quiet. Jongdae would’ve thought that he’d get some support from him at least because it was clear with Baekhyun’s silence that he wasn’t going to get any from him.

“But I also can’t be with someone else when I’m feeling like this,” Kyungsoo started. “It’s not fair to Junmyeon.” He frowned and looked at Jongdae. “We’ve talked about this, Jongdae. You told me that I shouldn’t be unfair to him, that I shouldn’t use Junmyeon to forget Jongin. Now you’re telling me to stay with him. I don’t understand.”

Jongdae remembered that conversation and he felt guilty about it. He couldn’t deny that what happened between him and Suho that night after his show was what made him talk to Kyungsoo about being fair and making sure that he wasn’t just using Junmyeon to forget about Jongin. While that may be the actual case for Kyungsoo’s feelings, Jongdae felt like he was just telling those things to him for his own benefit, and that he couldn’t stand.

Right after he’d talked to Kyungsoo, he wanted to take back all that he’d said because it just wasn’t right. He’d taken advantage of his best friend’s confusion for his own benefit. But now he had the chance to make amends.

“I just…” Jongdae tried to compose his thoughts. “I think you should…make sure that you can’t try things with Junmyeon. That’s all I’m saying.”

There was a short silence, which, in that time, Jongdae started to mourn the loss of his sanity, by the evil looks that Baekhyun was shooting him, and the loss of his heart.

-

“That was very stupid, what you did.”

Jongdae almost jumped out from his skin and whipped around. Lu Han was still standing in the middle of his living room when he thought that all of his friends had already left. There hadn’t been much left to talk about after Kyungsoo springing such news on them.

“What are you talking about?” Jongdae pinched the bridge of his nose. He’d been hoping to get some time to himself and think about things.

“You didn’t have to go butting your opinions in when clearly Kyungsoo’s already made his decision. He’d already decided to break up with Junmyeon,” Lu Han reiterated, clearly annoyed. “Or should I call him Suho?”

Jongdae gaped at him. He’d had his suspicions that Baekhyun knew. But for Lu Han to know as well…

“I knew even before Baekhyun did,” Lu Han spoke as if he read his mind. When Jongdae couldn’t make his mouth to spew out words, Lu Han carried on. “Sehun talks about Junmyeon, about how they’d been friends for a long time, how he’d taken care of the dance studio, while Junmyeon made his way in the US as Suho.”

Of course Sehun would tell Lu Han. He and Lu Han had been sort of seeing each other in between the times that Lu Han felt that being with Kris made him feel too much. Jongdae should have realized that Sehun would tell Lu Han about him and Suho.

“I don’t…I don’t know what to say,” Jongdae whispered. The lines on Lu Han’s face and his body language screamed that he was angry with him. But for what reason, he wasn’t sure.

“You could’ve told us that Junmyeon was Suho,” Lu Han snapped, pacing back and forth in the living room. “That would save us all the trouble.”

“What trouble?” Jongdae tiredly chuckled. “Whatever Suho and I had, that was a long time ago. It doesn’t matter anymore.”

Lu Han scoffed in disbelief. “You should see your face,” he told him. “I’m surprised Kyungsoo has never noticed, or, if he has, has never said anything.” He stopped pacing and stared at him. “Who are you trying to fool, Jongdae? It’s quite clear that whatever you and Junmyeo-Suho had still matters. Why do you keep on denying it? It’s not a crime.”

“Because he’s with Kyungsoo. He met him fair and square and Suho and I, we never really talked about us and…” He took a deep breath, the exhaustion seeping deep into his bones. He didn’t sign up for this. He didn’t want to… why were relationships so hard? “Kyungsoo deserves to be happy. He needs someone in his life,” he finished, taking a seat on the couch and burying his face into his hands.

“And you don’t?” Lu Han sounded like he wanted to strangle Jongdae. He stalked towards Jongdae and grabbed his shoulders, forcing him to meet his eyes. “Do you think that Kyungsoo would allow this if he knew?”

Jongdae shook his head. “Don’t tell him,” he firmly demanded. “Don’t. I’ve already made my choice.”

“I really want to strangle you right now,” Lu Han grumbled as he flopped down on the sofa next to him.

“You could,” Jongdae gave him permission. “You know I was trying to strangle Baekhyun when we were hanging out in his studio and a customer walked in.” Laughter bubbled out of him. “I don’t think he’s going to come back.”

“Probably not,” Lu Han laughed as well. Lu Han leaned back on the sofa and pulled Jongdae with him. “What am I going to do with you, Jongdae?” he asked, running his fingers through Jongdae’s hair.

Jongdae was quiet for a moment. He couldn’t help but wonder how Lu Han or Baekhyun can even manage to think about the problems in his love life when their own weren’t faring so well either. Lu Han was in crisis mode with Kris, pretending not to be in love with him because he was afraid when he actually hopelessly was. Baekhyun, meanwhile, was currently avoiding Chanyeol, because he thought that Chanyeol deserved someone who didn’t have to pay him for dates. In Baekhyun’s defense, the whole situation was Lu Han’s and Jongdae’s fault so they probably should be worrying about that.

“I think…” Jongdae began, trying to hold his laughter in. “…the question is: what are we going to do when Baekhyun finds out we’ve tricked him into dating Chanyeol?”

Lu Han choked into startled laughter, leaning towards Jongdae, his face buried on his shoulder. “We’re so going to get it from him,” he agreed.

“Baekhyun won’t be too hard on us,” Jongdae confidently declared, his arm warm around Lu Han as he continued laughing. “He loves us.”

Lu Han played with Jongdae’s hand, sighing quietly. “Kyungsoo doesn’t love Junmyeon, you know,” he said. “If there’s anything clear about this whole thing, it’s that fact.” He lifted his head to look at his friend. “That, and the fact that you deserve to be happy, too.”

Jongdae rolled his eyes and pulled Lu Han’s head back onto his shoulder. “Shut up,” he retorted, smiling. “You always ruin moments.”

“You shut up,” Lu Han frowned, snuggling back comfortably into his arms. “You think everything’s a moment.”

Jongdae sighed. “I hear you, Lu Han,” he finally said.

-

Jongdae paced back and forth across the dance studio. Once in a while, he would stop and look at himself in the mirror, as if wondering whether he was in the right frame of mind. He also kept on adjusting his outfit here and there just to make sure he looked right.

He was planning to ask Suho if they could talk, maybe over dinner or lunch. It didn’t necessarily have to be over food; he just really wanted to talk to him, maybe sort things out. How, he wasn’t sure. He hadn’t even talked to Kyungsoo yet. But he figured that he should tell Suho of what he had in mind just in case they were in the same wavelength.

The door opened and Suho walked in, wearing a simple shirt and a pair of track pants. Jongdae had never wanted to kiss someone so much in his life.

“Hey,” Suho greeted him with a surprised smile, always with a smile. “What are you doing here?”

“I know I should’ve called, but I know if I tried to call I would’ve talked myself out of it and I would never-.” Jongdae cut himself off and cleared his throat, his face feeling hot. “Sorry,” he murmured.

“What is it, Jongdae?” Suho gently asked, clearly amused.

“I just… I know you’re always busy, but I was wondering if you were free tonight. It’s not…it’s not a date,” he promised. “I just wanted to…talk.”

Suho smiled before shaking his head, truly apologetic. “I can’t tonight,” he told him.

“Oh,” Jongdae said, smiling. “That’s okay.”

“I’m taking Kyungsoo to the studio’s dance show,” Suho said, gesturing towards one of the posters on the wall behind him. “It’s, uh, something I’ve asked him to attend a while back.”

“Oh, of course,” Jongdae said, taking a step back. Jongdae then knew his answer. “I’ll see you around then.” He smiled, took a deep breath and turned to leave.

“Jongdae,” Suho called him back urgently, grabbing his wrist. “Don’t…” He let out a breath. “We’ll talk, okay? Soon. I promise.”

Jongdae chuckled and untangled his wrist from Suho’s grasp. “It’s fine, we don’t have to,” he assured him.

“No,” Suho insisted. “We will. Just…just wait, okay? Please?”

Jongdae couldn’t understand why Suho was so insistent, but he gave in to his lie and nodded. “Okay.”

Then Jongdae stepped out of the dance studio. But it very much felt like stepping out of Suho’s life as well.

-

It was another café date for Jongdae and his group of friends. Kyungsoo had specifically requested that they come in that morning because there was some good news that he wanted to share. Although Jongdae was curious, he was also dreading what the announcement might be. He knew that Suho and Kyungsoo had gone to that dance performance the week before and even if he hadn’t heard about it from Kyungsoo, not hearing from Suho made him create his own conclusions. His talk with Suho was not going to happen anymore.

Jongdae was so caught up with his thoughts that he failed to see that Baekhyun had bumped into Lu Han’s back, making him crash into him as well.

“Hey!” Jongdae and Baekhyun chorused.

“What’s the big deal?” Baekhyun demanded, rubbing his nose.

But Jongdae’s breath was caught in his throat. Lu Han had just taken a seat right beside Suho, who was reading some book. He ignored the smile that Lu Han shot at him and merely stared.

“Who’s Kyungsoo sucking face with?” Lu Han asked Suho, eyes towards the direction of the counter.

“Jongin came back from the US for him,” Suho told them with a smile.

“Jongin?!” Jongdae could hear Baekhyun echoing the same surprise that he had.

True enough, Jongin was wrapped around Kyungsoo, kissing each other like they hadn’t seen each other in years, which they hadn’t. Soon enough, Kyungsoo detached himself from where he was kissing Jongin by the counter, smiling gratefully at a traumatized Minseok, his co-worker, before walking over to where they were standing with mouths hanging open.

“Well well well,” Lu Han closed his mouth, clearly impressed with the turn of events. He sat back on his seat and looked straight at Jongdae as Kyungsoo beamed at them. “Who would’ve thought?”

Baekhyun gushed and hugged Kyungsoo tightly, incredibly happy for the fairytale ending that Kyungsoo’s story was having. It had been 10 years of Kyungsoo hoping and wishing for Jongin to come along and now here he was, in the flesh. Certain dreams really did come true.

“Aren’t you going to say something, Jongdae?” Kyungsoo then asked him, a smile on his face. Suho lifted his eyes from his book at this.

“I’m happy for you, Kyungsoo,” Jongdae reached out and hugged him tightly. “Welcome back, Jongin,” he added when they’d pulled away. Jongin smiled and nodded at him.

A couple more happy words were exchanged. But Jongdae was still having a hard time processing them all. Jongin was back and he was with Kyungsoo. And Suho… Jongdae glanced at him and found that Suho was looking at him with a smile on his face, a smile that reminded him of that time when Suho told him that they would get to talk and had asked him to wait. Was this what he had in mind?

“You should go talk to him,” Baekhyun nudged him and Jongdae blinked. He found that Lu Han had already left and that Baekhyun was leaving as well. “Don’t over think this, Jongdae,” he added softly, smiling at him. Patting his cheek, he left the café.

“Is he okay?” Suho asked, addressing Jongdae directly for the first time.

“He’s fine,” Jongdae assured him and them. He bit his lip and wondered whether he should stay or whether he should go. He decided on the latter. He needed some time to think. “I’ll be off as well. I’m glad you’re back, Jongin.”

As he walked away from the coffee shop, the disbelief and the relief brought on by the recent events washed over him. Kyungsoo, who had waited for so long for the love of his life to come back, got his wish. Jongin was back and was as in love with him as ever. And Suho… Suho was single. Suho was single.

He stopped in his tracks and blurted out, “Suho is single.”

“That’s right, he really is.” Jongdae turned around and saw Kyungsoo giving him a wide knowing smile. Kyungsoo approached him and took a deep breath. “Suho is single,” Kyungsoo confirmed.

“You know he’s Suho?” Jongdae asked nervously.

“Just recently,” Kyungsoo shared, chuckling and shaking his head. He reached for both of Jongdae’s hands and squeezed them comfortingly. “I really hate you for not telling me. If you had-.”

“You’ve would’ve given way for me and him,” Jongdae finished for him, nodding. “I know and that’s why I didn’t say anything. I knew you liked him and I would never put my happiness ahead of yours.”

Kyungsoo whimpered and pulled him into a tight hug, burying his face in his chest. “I really hate you,” he prompted. He pulled away and pressed his palms gently on Jongdae’s cheeks. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize, silly,” Jongdae pulled him into another hug and kissed his forehead.

“I feel like I should,” Kyungsoo muttered. “You don’t know how much Lu Han lectured me about this, about not listening enough and-.”

“Lu Han’s an ass, you do know that, right?” Jongdae cut him off, making a mental note to tell Lu Han off later on. “You didn’t know because I refused to let you know. If anything, it’s my fault. And, for the record, Lu Han had a lecture prepared for me, too.”

“You know what,” Kyungsoo said on their way back to the café. “I think Junmyeon’s always been yours.”

Jongdae laughed. “You’re so cheesy. What are you talking about?”

Kyungsoo made a face at him lifted a shoulder in a half-shrug. “I guess I noticed because I did it to him, too,” he tried to explain. “I mean, I liked him but I thought about Jongin all the time and he noticed that, especially when we ended up talking about him that one night.”

They stopped walking when they reached the café. Kyungsoo hugged Jongdae again. No apologies really were needed for what had transpired between them. There was no one at fault, and even if there was, their friendship was far stronger than that. Jongdae meant what he told Kyungsoo. Even if it hurt, he would always put his friends’ happiness above his own.

“I’m really happy for you,” Jongdae sincerely repeated to Kyungsoo.

“You will be, too,” Kyungsoo winked at him and disappeared back into the café.

Jongdae chuckled and shook his head, knowing what Kyungsoo was going to do, and so he waited.

When Suho stepped out of the shop, there was a wide smile on his face. Jongdae returned it and offered his hand towards him.

“You waited,” Suho beamed, squeezing his hand.

“Of course,” Jongdae chuckled.

Jongdae almost stumbled when Suho pulled him close, but didn’t protest when Suho pressed his lips against his.

-

Jongdae was coughing when Suho found him, carrying drinks. Suho immediately handed Jongdae one and watched in concern as he finished the whole glass of champagne. Jongdae let out a blech once he did and placed the empty glass on a nearby table.

“Everything okay?” Suho wanted to know.

“Yeah. It’s just that my friends have all become gross people,” Jongdae shuddered, glancing around.

It was the anniversary of Exo Hotel, owned by Lu Han’s boyfriend. In the middle of the ballroom, Jongdae could see Lu Han and Kris dancing, too close to each other. On the other side were Chanyeol and Baekhyun practically sucking each other’s faces off. And then there were Kyungsoo and Jongin, clinging onto each other like they were both going to disappear any moment. He was all for happy endings but he wasn’t sure whether he could ever hang out with his friends again with how cheesy they’d turned out.

“I think I know exactly what you need,” Suho declared. He put down his champagne glass on the table and pulled Jongdae close to him.

“Oh god, are you going to be sappy like them, too?” Jongdae faked a quiver.

“Shut up,” Suho good-naturedly told him, wrapping his arms around his waist. “You like it when I’m sappy.”

“Correction,” Jongdae said, shaking his head. “I like you so I put up with everything that you do.” He pasted a smile on his face and squirmed when Suho started tickling him. “Suho, stop,” he laughed, grabbing his arms.

“Will you ever call me Junmyeon?” Suho then asked as he stopped tickling him.

There was an earnest look in his eyes that Jongdae couldn’t look away from. Suho had asked him to call him Junmyeon ever since they finally cleared things out between them. He explained that it was his real self, just like how Jongdae was his, and that he wanted Jongdae to know that he was free to call him Junmyeon now that the confusion was over.

But, for some reason, Jongdae still called him Suho. He really wasn’t sure why, but there was just something stopping him from doing so. Maybe it was because he was used to calling him Suho and maybe because he still felt like Junmyeon was Kyungsoo’s name for him, although that was a strange way to think.

“I’m just not used to it,” Jongdae told him. “Why, don’t you like the name Suho anymore?”

“It’s not that,” Suho hesitated. “It’s just… Junmyeon seems, is, more real. Suho was a name I used for the entertainment industry, kind of like how you use Chen.” He paused and leaned his forehead against his. “Everything of me is yours, Jongdae. All of me. So it’s Junmyeon. You’re dating Junmyeon.”

Jongdae pulled back a bit to get a good look at him. He lifted his hand to caress his smooth cheek. He got it now. He finally understood what Suho was trying to tell him.

“You’re too wonderful for me,” Jongdae closed his eyes and breathed deeply. “How did I end up deserving you?”

Suho gave a quiet chuckle. “You’ve always deserved me, Jongdae,” he promised.

As they just stood there, looking into each other eyes, Jongdae couldn’t help but be amazed at how things had worked out between them. Finding a partner, finding someone to love who will love him in return, wasn’t the easiest thing for someone who worked in the entertainment industry, because people normally just saw Chen and not Jongdae. But then here was Suho, who immediately just saw Jongdae, allowing Chen to filter through, but never interchanging both.

Jongdae’s job was to be Chen. Chen was created to be a dream to everyone. But Jongdae has always wanted Jongdae to be a dream for someone as well and to find his own. And now it had all come true. Junmyeon was Jongdae’s dream come true, while Jongdae was Junmyeon’s. Suho was the daydream and Junmyeon was the dream, and Junmyeon was his.

“I really like your new hair,” Junmyeon broke the silence. He pulled back and let his fingers flit through his shorter bangs.

“It’s a good thing I look fine with shorter hair,” Jongdae sighed, shaking his head as the memory of Baekhyun going off like a bomb when he and Lu Han finally explained to him the truth about Chanyeol. Lu Han ended up with a black eye, while Jongdae ended up with an unscheduled haircut. Jongdae wasn’t sure who got the worst out of the whole thing. All he knew was that Baekhyun remained mostly unscratched, except for a small cut on his cheek. He snagged Chanyeol, too. Then again, Lu Han was now with Kris, and Jongdae was with Junmyeon. It seemed like a win-win-win situation.

“You have your serious face on again,” Junmyeon poked into his thoughts. Jongdae raised his eyebrows in amusement. “You remember that I find that very sexy, right?”

Jongdae’s signature cat-like grin formed on his face. “And just what are you going to do about that?” he asked, snaking his arms around Junmyeon’s neck.

“I don’t think it would be appropriate for this kind of event,” Junmyeon whispered into his ear as he glanced at the people milling around them.

“Well then,” Jongdae stated, blinking innocently at him. “Should we go?”

Junmyeon gave him a sexy smile and grabbed his hand, tugging him towards the double-door entrance of the Angel Ballroom. He noticed Baekhyun, Lu Han and Kyungsoo watching them as they made their way through the crowd and decided to give them a suggestive wink. When he chuckled in satisfaction as they all shuddered, Junmyeon turned to look at him. Jongdae gave him a wink as well and Junmyeon lifted his hand and kissed his knuckles in return.

Walking hand-in-hand with Junmyeon like this, Jongdae couldn’t help but think that this what happily ever after must feel like.
