Other Lives
There are days when Baekhyun thinks about all the other paths he could have taken with his life. He thinks about pursuing his studies into a master or doctorate degree and maybe eventually actually becoming a doctor, one who saves life. He thinks about becoming a lawyer instead and talking people out of sending an innocent man to prison, gaining someone back a life and a second chance. He thinks about staying at home with his parents, taking care of his mom, who's always taken care of him as he was growing up and putting up with all the headaches that he caused her.
And then he sees Chanyeol, hair sticking up everywhere, beside him, haphazardly rummaging through all their cupboards in the dorm for a cough medicine just because he coughed /once/ that morning, and he smiles.
Because why think of all those what-if lives? He's pretty sure that none of those other lives would have given him Chanyeol. And, if only for that, he already likes this life better than all those others. If only for Chanyeol, he thinks he's already living his life the way he's supposed to.
