Part 1

“Ah so the members just forced you to go and not because you actually wanted to,” Kyuhyun responded to her story, a bit miffed.

“They didn’t force me,” Jinri exacted. “They just made me realize that it’s perfectly okay for me to go on vacation with you. I would’ve decided to go anyway even if they didn’t talk me into it.” She opened her mouth to say more, but she saw Seunghwan playing with his food on the smaller table beside them.

They were having dinner in their hotel suite. After eating out all the time for the past couple of days, they decided to stay in for most of their last day.

“Seungie,” Jinri got up and helped clear the scattered pieces of food on the table, as well as his plate, “you seem to be enjoying dinner.”

“Enjoying dinner!” Seunghwan echoed enthusiastically, waving his fork around like a magic wand.

“Seunghwan!” Kyuri shrieked when bean sprouts flew to her hair.

“Stop shouting, Kyuri,” Hyunjin scolded her.

“Okay,” Kyuhyun clapped, calling everyone to attention. “It’s bedtime.” The kids groaned in disappointment. “C’mon, you three, off to the bathroom to get cleaned up.”

Jinri cleared the food, plates and utensils as Kyuhyun made sure that the children had a proper bath and got them ready for bed.

“Hyunnie, what are you doing all the way over there?” Jinri asked, watching her son, climb on the sofa on the other side of the room. “Appa’s about to tuck you guys to bed.”

“I don’t need a bedtime story nor a bedtime song,” Hyunjin declared.

Jinri met Kyuhyun’s amused eyes across the room. She took a seat beside her son on the sofa and pulled him towards her.

“I’ve always liked a bedtime song,” she tenderly shared with her son. She ran her hand through his hair, lighting patting his head.

“Only kids like bedtime songs and stories,” Hyunjin firmly replied, crossing his arms on his chest. “I’m not a kid anymore.”

She pulled him closer to him and kissed her head. “I know you’re not, Hyunnie,” she quietly agreed, almost whispering. “In fact, I think you’re growing up too fast.”

He looked up at his mom. “Are you sad that I am?” He looked a bit confused.

“I’m proud of you,” she said instead. “But I wish you can stay my little boy a little longer.”

“I’ll always be your little boy, omma,” he guaranteed, wrapping his arms around her. “In theory.”

She laughed and kissed his cheek. “Of course. In theory,” she repeated, still laughing. She pulled away a bit to look at him. “What do you say we put this theory to practice? Have appa sing you a bedtime song?”

Hyunjin nodded and trotted towards the bed, where Kyuhyun was already situated in between Kyuri and Seunghwan. Their eldest son placed himself right beside Seunghwan. Kyuhyun kissed Hyunjin on the head and smiled fondly at his wife, who took her place beside Kyuri.

“Let’s hear that song, appa!” Kyuri directed excitedly. Seunghwan clapped his hands. Hyunjin smiled.

The wind was cool. The stars shined brightly blanketed by the velvety night sky. Jinri and Kyuhyun were by the balcony, wrapped around each other, dancing to a song only heard by them.

“This is nice,” Jinri murmured, eyes closed, as she leaned her head against Kyuhyun’s chest.

“Mhmm,” Kyuhyun murmured back, kissing her head. “So… 12 years, princess.”

She lifted her head to look at him, smiling. “You haven’t called me princess in a while,” she said, a bit surprised.

“I think I’ve been too busy calling you my wife,” he replied teasingly.

She chuckled. “And it’s only been 11 years and eight months,” she knowingly stated.

“Ha ha,” his voice dripped with sarcasm.

“Who knows if we’ll get to 11 years?” she went on. “There’s a lot that can happen in four months.”

“Like what?” he wanted to know, smiling a little. “Bring it on. I’m ready for anything.”

“Did you just say bring it on?” she laughed.

He laughed with her. “I mean it, though,” he told her, suddenly serious. “I’m ready for anything. We have each other and it’ll all work out.” He stopped moving around, stopped dancing, and looked intently at her. “Princess, I know there’s something you’re not telling me.”

“Kyuhyun,” she began, her breath getting caught up in her throat.

“After all these years, I can’t believe you’re still scared to tell me things,” he interrupted her, sounding somewhat offended.

“It’s not exactly that,” she told him, looking away. “I just… you’ve been so busy these past few months. We’ve only had the chance to have a vacation now and I want to enjoy it.”

“What’s the big secret that’s going to ruin the fun?” he inquired, searching her face for some form of answer. “Is it bad?” He paused for a second. “Are you leaving me?”

“What? No!” she instantaneously negated, her eyes widening as she looked back at him. “How could you even-No! I’m not leaving you. Never.”

Kyuhyun slowly let out a breath that he didn’t realize he was holding. It had been torture for him, the past couple of months. He’d been away so often, rehearsing for his musical and going on tour for his album. He’d barely been home. Jinri had been busy working on a solo album for Ryeowook, song-wise and pictorial-wise, as well as writing some songs for Taeyeon’s solo album. The time they managed to talk on the phone was limited, although he never failed to call every night just to be able to speak to his kids. Still, a lot had changed, and he was worried that Jinri might have gotten some ideas in that time. He had, after all, promised to make her happy. What if she wasn’t happy anymore?

“Okay, that’s good to know,” he breathed easier.

“Seobang,” she said, trapping his face in her hands, “how could you still think that I would ever leave you? You said it yourself…12 years.”

“Well, you said that a lot can happen in four months,” he returned earnestly. “Besides, not much has changed. My job…it still continues to keep us apart and-.”

“I have never complained about that,” she reminded him. “You love it and I love it. Your kids love it. No one hates your job.”

“Our kids,” he corrected her, rather uneasily.

“Our kids,” she repeated, tiptoeing to give him a peck on the lips. “Seobang, you’re not the only one who promised to make us work forever. I did, too, and I’m more than willing to go all the way and more.”

“So… if I stop being a singer and actor, when I end up jobless and a has-been, will you still love me still?” he asked hypothetically. They’d always talked about his job and how Jinri was okay with it. He’d only just realized and wondered what if he stopped being Kyuhyun the celebrity?

“Kyuhyun, are you worried about that, too?” she couldn’t help but chuckle. Her husband was still so cute and adorable even nearing 40 years old. “What do you think?”

“I think…” He breathed deeply. “It doesn’t matter. You’ll still love me.”

There was a question there, one he didn’t blatantly voice out.

“Of course, you dummy,” she confirmed. “I’ll love you forever. Even when you have white hair and become wrinkly and ugly.”

He laughed at this. “Well, for the record, I think you’ll always be beautiful,” he pronounced. She smiled happily. Kyuhyun tucked her hair behind her ear. “So now that we’ve established that we love each other forever, will you finally tell me the secret?”

Jinri stiffened in his arms. “It’s not bad news,” she made that clear. “I just didn’t tell you at once because I had to come to terms with it myself and because I was worried about what you’d think and about the kids.”

“Just tell me, princess,” Kyuhyun prodded, smiling amusedly at her.

“I’m pregnant,” Jinri declared. She smiled uncertainly when Kyuhyun stared at her, eyes bugged out. “Five months.”

“You’re pregnant,” he repeated. She nodded. “You’re five months pregnant?” She nodded again. “Who’s been going with you to doctor appointments?”

“Jessica,” she told him. “Sometimes Taeyeon. I-are you mad?”

Kyuhyun pulled her towards him and captured her lips in a deep kiss. Jinri sighed into the kiss, her hands gripping his shirt, as he tightly kept her in his arms.

Kyuhyun wasn’t angry. If anything, he was more worried about her and her condition. But he was happier than anything. She was pregnant! She was giving him another child. A fourth one. He really didn’t know what could be happier news.

He continued to kiss her, hoping that he could show her just how he loved her and her news. Slowing things down, he placed a hand on her cheek, tenderly caressing it.

When he’d finally pulled away, her eyes fluttered open, looking beautiful in her breathlessness.

“Wow,” she breathed. “Kissing like that should be made illegal.”

Kyuhyun smirked smugly and leaned for another kiss, less intense. Nevertheless, it sent tingles right down Jinri’s spine. When he moved to pull away, she shook her head, eyes still closed, and pulled him back.

“Some more,” she murmured, kissing him again.

“Princess,” Kyuhyun said through her lips as they continued making out, “we better stop now. If this goes on…you might end up giving birth to twins.”

Jinri burst into giggles and slapped his arm. “Way to break the mood,” she rolled her eyes. “And that’s impossible.” She turned to move back inside the room.

“Hey,” he called her back, bringing her back into his arms. “This is great news. Let’s tell the others as soon as we get home.”

“Okay,” she gladly agreed. “I’m relieved that you’re not mad at me.”

“How can I be mad at you?” he responded, shaking his head. “I love you.”

“I love you, too, seobang,” she told him emotionally. “Thank you.”

~ * ~

“Are you ready?” Kyuhyun asked Jinri for what felt like the nth time.

“Yes, babe, I’m ready,” Jinri patiently answered him. She looked around her, squinting her eyes to see through the dark. “Although, I don’t know what I have to be ready for. They’re family. And we’re married. They’ll love it.”

Kyuhyun stopped walking and looked at her (or tried to). “You called me babe,” he noticed. “That’s the first time you’ve ever called me that.”

“Is this something we’re going to have a discussion about?” she asked, finding his hand and squeezing it. “It doesn’t mean anything.”

“O-kay,” he decided to let it go. “Just…I prefer it if you call me seobang.”

“Seobang,” she called him, gripping his arms and pulling him to her. “Seobang,” she repeated. “Seobang,” she whispered into his ear.

“Okay stop,” he cleared his throat uncomfortably. “You know what that does to me.”

“Oh do I?” she teased. “Seobang~.”

“You’re going to regret this,” he told her.

She giggled as Kyuhyun cupped her face and pulled her into an intense kiss. Kissing him back fully, she stood on tiptoe to feel more of him.

The kiss had slowly intensified into something definitely more than just making out. The top buttons of Kyuhyun’s shirt was undone. She was sure that her hair was all messy and mussed out.

Suddenly, she became aware that there was some coughing echoing in the room. She pulled away from him at once.

“Did you hear that?” Jinri asked him, glancing around and seeing nothing. It was so dark.

“What?” Kyuhyun, dazed, asked huskily.

“I thought I heard coughing,” she told him uncertainly. “Why is it so dark anyway? We should turn the lights on.”

“She’s still pregnant and he’s already starting on baby number 5!”

Snickers echoed in the room.

Jinri turned towards the voice. “Is that Heechul oppa? What’s going on?”

“What?” he innocently repeated. When he came to his senses, he buttoned his shirt up and tried to make sure that his wife was decent.

“What are you doing?” she demanded.

“You shouldn’t have-,” he cut himself off. “Just…be ready.” Before she could ask any questions, he started to count off, “1… 2... 3…”

“SURPRISE!!!”

The lights were suddenly turned on, making Jinri’s close her eyes with the sudden brightness of everything. When she opened them again, she saw all her family members gathered around. Her eyes widened and she turned to Kyuhyun, who was looking sheepish.

“CONGRATULATIONS!!!”

“I…what?” Jinri stammered confusedly.

Donghae bounded towards her in a tight hug, followed by Zhoumi, Ryeowook (who had his eyes closed due to the indeceny), Heechul, and the other members of Super Junior, their wives and the members of Girls’ Generation. They all congratulated her on being pregnant for the fourth time.

“What’s going on?” Jinri asked, laughing.

“That’s what we’re wondering, too,” Hangeng agreed. “We thought we came here to surprise you and not watch our brother and his wife maul each other.”

“We weren’t-.” Jinri cleared her throat, her face red. When she turned to ask Kyuhyun to handle things, she found that he had desserted her. “Coward,” she muttered.

“Well, congratulations!” Donghae chirped. “Baby number 4!”

“I thought I was going to break the news to you,” Jinri laughed at his enthusiasm, which he never seemed to lack.

“We’ve known for quite some time now,” Eunhyuk told her cheekily.

“But…how? I’ve only just told Kyuhyun,” Jinri tried to understand.

“Oh Kyuhyun already knew,” Zhoumi relayed. “You should’ve seen him when he found out.”

“He was just waiting for you to tell him,” Taeyeon added, smiling giddily. Jessica gave her a knowing look.

Jinri searched the room for Kyuhyun and found him on one side, talking to Leeteuk and Angie. Their gazes met. She raised an eyebrow, while he merely grinned in response.

“Congratulations!!!” Tiffany squealed, hugging Jinri again. “Four kids!”

“You’re really going to follow through on creating your own sports team, aren’t you?” Kangin teased.

“Good lord,” Huiying shook her head. Zhoumi laughed beside her and kissed her head. “That’s just a lot of Kyuhyun oppas and…” She shuddered.

“You don’t know the half of it,” Jinri told her.

~ * ~

“Apparently, I’m not the only one who keeps secrets,” Jinri interrupted Kyuhyun’s thoughts from where he was standing by one of the windows.

Kyuhyun turned around and smiled. “This is my way of telling you,” he explained, “so that you can’t get too mad at me since there are too many people around.”

“How did you even know?” she asked, chuckling.

“What kind of husband would I be if I didn’t know every detail about my wife?” he stated proudly. He stood behind her and hugged her from behind as they faced the window.

She smiled contentedly and leaned comfortably against him. “Four kids, Kyuhyun,” she said, biting her lip. “What are we doing?”

“We’re going to be fine,” he confidently stated. “I think we’re getting pretty good at this.”

“Getting pretty good at making babies, you mean,” she laughed. “We’ve barely raised them. Hyunjin is only 10 and-.”

“We’ll be fine,” he repeated, hugging her tighter and kissing her head. “I’ve waited for so long to have a family with you and it’s finally happening. I’m going to make sure we do it right and with happiness.”

“Ugh, you know I love you more when you say things like that, right?” Jinri mentioned, turning around to face him.

“Told you,” Kyuhyun smugly declared. “I’m a doting husband and father.”

“Fine,” Jinri concurred. “You’re my doting husband and father to my kids, after all.” She stood on tiptoe and gave him a kiss.

Author's Notes:
1. The tirle makes no sense whatsoever. But that's better than nothing (and Cho Kyuhyun's Fatherly Life is not a decent title).
2. Yes, eight years after BSS. Kyuhyun is 38. Jinri is 36. Hyunjin is 10. Kyuri is 8. Seunghwan (which is Kyuhyun's father's name, I just found out) is 4.
3. I made them have kids too late!!! I really regret this. :(( I want to give them more kids, but it's pretty much impossible now. What about Kyuhyun's football team???
4. Yes, Donghae and Jessica are married with 2 kids. They all pretty much married late and had kids late, 'no? Ah, the idol life.
5. I missed them omg. Really, you have no idea. I've had this idea of writing about the vacation that Kyuhyun took with his hyungs in Italy and pretended that Jinri was actually with them the whole time. I'd written a chunk of that back in November and then stoppped. LOL. But then! I had an idea for a family vacation yesterday and decided to just mesh them together. The chunk that I wrote back in November ended up as a flashback (the long one). :D
6. I talk too much. I hope you guys liked this. :D
