I've been moving a little slow due to the sunburn I received on Friday. Stacey called me a retard for running around throwing frisbee in the blazing sun, but I didn't care. How often is it that I get to throw disc with another ultimate player out here? So, I gladly spent a good 2 hours throwing the disc in 95 degree weather. Despite my best efforts to stay hydrated, I think I had heat exhaustion by the end of it. When I got undressed for bed on Friday, I had a strange rash all over my chest and shoulders. I'm not sure if it was from the heat or lying in the grass. It was gone when I woke up, so no biggie.
The big news of Saturday morning is that the newest couple to move onto our block is getting divorced. Blake came over to return a movie that they borrowed and told me the news. I swear....my block is cursed or something. We moved into a house where the previous occupant was divorced. Our next door neighbors got divorced not long after we moved in. A couple two doors down got divorced about 2 months ago. And now, the most recent couple to arrive on our block is already getting divorced. Ang and I need to get out of here quick before we get whacked with the D stick.
Speaking of moving......with the BRAC commisions decision to keep the base open yet move all of the planes, we'll probably get orders to a new base once the planes start leaving. I'm guessing that we'll start to hear things once the president signs off on the BRAC list next month. If/when that happens, I'll more than likely get orders to Hill AFB, UT or Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. I know it would be convenient to be on the east coast so that it will be easier (and cheaper) to visit family. However, I've heard bad things about that area. Utah will put us in an area where we will probably be considered heathens, but it might provide more safety. More to come as this story develops.
In gaming news, I'm still working my way through Xenosaga. I estimate that I'll be done with it this afternoon so that I can start in on Morrowind. During the 1+ hour power outage I experienced last night due to heavy T-storms, I finally made it through the end of Kingdom Hearts: CoM (delayed completion due to tediousness not difficulty). I am disappointed with the game. I was led to believe that it was going to be a stepping stool to the next game and that I would miss essential story elements if I didn't play through this one. This was not the case, however. Sora and friends go through a meaningless quest with meaningless enemies just to have their memories wiped and put back "the way they were" after they went through the gate at the end of the first game. Lame! I hope they hurry up and put the real story sequence back in motion with the release of the second game soon.
I've decided that I need some new geek apparel to feel complete. Here are the front runners:
