I'm ill. Not just "I have a cold" ill, but full on, can't stay upright for more than ten minutes before I need to sleep, ill. But, instead of moping I'm going to answer
mayatawi's questions relating to this:
Comment on this entry, and I will choose three of your interests and three of your icons for you to explain. You can either reply to my comment, or post your response in your journal to open it up to others.
I love the Jack/Daniel vibe and not just in a slashy way. I was actually 6-7 years into the series before it was pointed out to me that J/D were slashy. I know, right? Me as a slasher as well! I just love their banter and humour and this icon amused me so much in that direction. I use this icon when I'm feeling revengey.
So my first ever fandom was Star Wars. In that way where I didn't have the internet and didn't know what fandom was. I read all of the SW books and wrote really bad Mary-Sue fic about me with Luke. (Luke!) I am therefore pre-disposed to find anything SW-related utterly wonderful, but this icon still to this day amuses me far too much. Playing on the Vader-as-dad thing! Referencing canon! See the glee?
Well - I love Snape. He's an evil bastard, but a good guy. And I love good guys who are not necessarily NICE guys. (Hello? You may have met my Rodney-love?) So one Christmas a few years ago, amongst other things, my mum got me a teeny little Snape keyring. And I scanned it for some reason. So he's all angry with his arms crossed! Angry with YOU.
Interests:
aes sedai
Oh man. I want to be an Aes Sedai. If I could choose to be anything? I'd be an
Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. They are taken from Robert Jordan's
Wheel of Time books and are women who can manipulate the female half of the
True Source. Basically, they can use this energy to do very cool stuff, almost like magic. And they can also bond people to them. And, just, so hard to explain without re-telling the books, but dude - READ these books. Book one is ok, but after that? :D:D:D:D
bertie mcspakalack
My younger sister, Jac, has many many many nicknames, this being probably the one that I find funniest. She is most commonly called "Jac" or "Bert" and answers readily to both. When we were young she was called Jaci (pronounced "Jackie") and my older brother used to call her "Spacki" and "Spaka", in that lovely, older brother way. One day, a few years ago, I was talking about that and somehow said "Spakalack". As it sounded like "Backarack", I started calling her "Bert". It stuck. My mum (as the utter grown up that she is) then suggested "Bertie McSpakalack" to tie in with our Scottishness. I found it hilarious and it's my interest that encompasses the fun I get from my family.
Other Jac nicknames (Yes - ok, pretty much all mine/my fault):
Jaci
Bertaline (Well - her name is Jacqueline! It makes sense in my head...)
Robertaline (I use this one a lot)
Clickaline (From when she was using a crutch to walk due to a slipped disc.)
Crippaline (See about RE Clickaline)
Freakaline
Frogaline (Another brother-invented one)
vampadylaphilia
Ok - so going back to when I was in HP fandom, my then-girlfriend,
ballyharnon, was the writer of a huge-ass Remus/Sirius epic called The Linenverse. We were both MASSIVE Black Books fans and she wrote Bernard Black into the linenverse stories as Sirius Black's grumpy brother. Who was also a vampire. I, personally, loved it (and was probably to blame for encouraging his appearance so often.) One day we were talking about how the love for Dylan Moran as a vampire was HUGE and I said "It's like.....vampadylaphilia!" The name stuck. After that it was our word for the utter joy in writing/reading that character and in Black Books. So vampadylaphilia is the love of portraying Dylan Moran as a vampire.
Now that's done, can people help me? I'm miserable with this ill thing so comment if you want to do this meme, or even just link me to something you think I'll like. I'll be here - NOT moping.
