Seventeen hours
It's difficult to believe that today is the day that I get my copy of HBP. Oh I know it's tomorrow technically, but I usually stay up past midnight on a Friday so it's today damnit.
Am I excited? Dang tooting. Not "OMG I'M LIEK SO GOING TO PEE MYSELF!!!" but, well, pretty close. ;) I just can't wait to know what happens. I know what I'm like - I'm speed-read it to know what happens, then in about 2-3 weeks I'll re-read it for the enjoyment factor. I always re-read books and usually find I prefer them on the 2nd go through.
I have high hopes for this one. OotP wasn't crap - far from it, it just lacked the clear plotting that the others had - there didn't seem to be a definite thing that it was about. But I enjoyed it (more the 2nd time round...) and I'm not going to bore you with why right now. But this one has been written in a much different atmosphere. No deadlines not met, no rumors of writers block, no worries, just JKR happily telling us that this was easy to write and delivering in plenty of time. Here's hoping we get a cracker of a book. And to be honest she already killed off my favourite character so, hell, I'm ok with character deaths. I think the only thing she could kill me with is H/Hr *shudders*
