Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it? For whatever reason, I've been reading lately.
While the Darkness Lasts by BlossomsintheMist - Swordspoint, Richard St. Vier/Alec Campion. Origin story fic for one of my favourite love stories, with prose so gorgeous and true to the book that it reads like poetry.
Not If I Could Sing Like A Bird by rapacityinblue - Last Herald-Mage, Vanyel Ashkevron/Tylendel Frelennye. This story blew me away. It took everything in canon--every obstacle, every complication, every feeling--and then diverged from canon completely to create an entirely new story about these characters, growing up and struggling, in a way that made perfect sense. I want to read this story expanded into a novel, over and over again until the cover falls off.
