This entry is mostly about the grocery store.

Mother: "I was contemplating this morning that tai chi and chai tea are not opposites. You know? With names like that, they should be. Chai tea, tai chi."
Me: "..."

This discussion was born of the fact that I dragged her through the organic aisle at the grocery store, where we spent $158 on things containing seaweed and soy and camu fruit and exotic imported cheeses. All right, possibly it was more like $133 on those things, and $25 on various forms of chocolate, but it's the winter holidays. There are nineteen million kinds of chocolate on display and half of them contain mint. I cannot resist. There is now so much delicious and healthy food in our house that I can scarce bring myself to choose what to have for each meal, because I just want to eat everything. It's awesome. My refrigerator looks like that one on the Yoplait commercial that has twelve different kinds of yogurt in it, although not Yoplait because they use gelatin (boo!), and mine are all flavors like pomegranate passionfruit and plum lavender. I even have a sickly green new age beverage containing algae and spinach! Amazing!

I think it is a well-known fact that I will buy anything that involves organic tofu, but one thing I have yet to try is the enigma that is tofurkey. It is tantalizingly intriguing to me, and yet I can never talk anyone else into trying it with me. I'm not even a huge fan of fake meat (with the exception of soy bacon, holy crap), but there's just something about it. Tofurkey. I even saw one yesterday that had a fake wishbone. A wishstick! Made of tofu! How enchanting is that??

I am also mulling cider, which sounds a lot cooler than it really is, considering that I am really pouring juice into a pan and shaking spices and syrups into it whimsically until something interesting and delicious happens. I am charmed, I tell you, charmed. We also bought apple cider donut holes. For the record? OM NOM NOM.

...You probably want to hear about something that is not food-related now.

Needle-sized art! This is absolutely incredible, an artist who works with things like actual dust motes to create sculptures and has to do all of his work beneath a microscope. It's a video clip, check it out and marvel.

Art drawn by the very generous milenaa for my cracked-out alternate universe. It is a tiny pregnant bandom fairy! Look how cute! *waves hands*

All These Things That I've Done, by kaydeefalls - A Torchwood/Doctor Who "vid" set to music by the Killers. Beautifully done, well worth watching, and her first vid!

The Completely True Saga of the Time Jon Walker Almost Died Alone at a Truck Stop, by dsudis - P!atD gen. Hilarious and adorable and wonderfully fanciful.

And finally, adellyna wrote fanfic of my fanfic and I love it. Make The Season Bright - Pete/Ryland. Just in case you haven't gotten your fill yet of fairy mpreg. *G*

Hopefully there's a little something for everyone in there!
