The holidays are always insane. I'm feeling mildly accomplished, however!
- Christmas cards sent (except those that need actual trip to post office, like for overseas. Those go today or tomorrow). If you wanted one -- it's a family picture -- and I don't have your snail mail, better get with me!
- Tree up (adventure in and of itself -- Sprite keeps redecorating it for me!)
- Shopping entirely done. I am blessed to have a group of people who are important to me and with whom I want to share gifts -- though I do admit that a shopping list with 20+ people on it is somewhat anxiety-inducing :)
Still to do: WRAPPING! The worst part! :)
I am remembering Great Grandpa Don (BooPapa), who defied all the odds for a long time and passed away in October. And I am sending many prayers of thanks that my dad's guardian angels were close to him this week. He told his wife a couple days ago that his chest hurt, and could she drive him to the hospital? She took him (with a stop at the fire station on the way!!) and they got there and started running tests. He had not had a heart attack, so they weren't sure what was wrong.... and at about 4am that morning, he did in fact have a major heart attack that because he was already in the hospital, he survived with minimal trouble. They put a new stent in his heart, and he went home yesterday doing fine with orders to take it easy for a few days.
My inlaws arrive this weekend, and we are readying for their arrival. Sprite has a preschool holiday party tomorrow, and Cyke is getting ready for Christmas and his 6th birthday. Lord, where does the time go?
The New Year's party is being planned, and we're looking forward to spending another New Year with our friends. Hubby and I will be married 9 years this Dec 31 (legal date 01/01), and we will have been together as a couple for 18 years come February. I have now loved this man half my life. And he, by some grace, loves me back.
Life is good.
