I am reminded today to list the things that I am thankful for in my life, just because too often it's easy to get lost in the day-to-day humdrum and stress.
- My husband
- My beautiful, articulate, intelligent children
- My parents - both birth and step, as well as inlaw
- My siblings - birth, step, and inlaw
- My extended family - who enjoy spending time with me and see me for who I am
- The fact that we have a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, and income that supports us when so many don't this year
- Good friends - who share their time, their dinner, and their experiences with us, making us better people
- My health - without which I would have no ability to enjoy anything - and that of my family
It has been a wonderful day. Cyke lost his first tooth at Thanksgiving dinner today, and Sprite spent most of the day peeing in the potty -- at her own request and her own initiative! I had intended to wait until after the holidays to even try with her, but she is determined to run around naked and so just by sheer necessity she's begun to train herself. She had several accidents throughout the day but she's VERY pleased with herself because the accidents got progressively smaller throughout the day while the amount she placed in the potty got bigger!
There is little more I could ask of the universe, honestly. I am blessed beyond measure. To each of you out there, I wish the most wonderful beginning to the holiday season -- may your blessings outweigh the hardships.
