(no subject)
Sorry about yesterday's freak out. Wrong timing, that's all I can attribute it to. I can't handle shit when I'm in pain and bleeding.
Two evening straight and I still haven't managed to finish editing all the pics from vacation. While I do have a lot of pics (about 2 gigs worth), I also lack the memory or the foresight to remember how to do batches in PS. So yeah, totally my fault. I finally got all the way through the time spend in Cape San Blas though, so all I have left is the trip home. And many of those probably won't be viable because they were all taken from a moving car.
All the fabric has been acquired for the Peaches and Cream Barbie. I now have 18 yards of tulle to try and work into a skirt. I even managed to find a giant snap. Round, rather than square and not to scale but darn it, I don't care. Giant snap. All I'm missing is the tulle for the shawl thingie (yeah, yeah, should have got it at the same time but I didn't figure out the yardage I need), and boning. I think all in all, the random patterns I picked up not withstanding, I managed to get this dress together for around $100. Which has been and will be my usual price-costume ratio. Every ren faire dress I've done has been around $100-$120.
I also snagged a Civil War Era gown pattern that is out of print. Still can't find the petticoat one I'd love to get but oh well. I really need to dust of my notes from Costume Design and remember how to make things from scratch again. I knew it once, briefly, when I was crazy enough to think that being a costume designer would be a fun job. (I don't like sewing as much as that would require.)
Right. 10am meeting of pointlessness, in zippers covering my skirt and my hat. Because I forgot we had a meeting. I look so professional. :p Friday Goth Day doesn't work so well sometimes.
