(no subject)
I'm writing because I'm waiting for the ink to dry. I was drawing because I have nothing major to do with the exception of filing and since my motivation has crawled under a rock to die, filing can wait another day. So I don't have a whole lot to ramble about.
Oh, I hate the scanner at work, does that count? It's actually decent at high contrast work like inks. It eats pencils for breakfast. It's not quite as bad as the grainy HP I had as a kid (I still have some of those scans, they're bad), but not ideal. But since nobody carries a goddamn full bed scanner that doesn't also print and copy and email and give you coffee in the morning, I'm going to have to order one online. Not on my list to do in a hurry. I have a backlog of crap to color anyway.
My Canon's trying to crap out too which is not good. I gotta figure out why I can clean the whole tray and as soon as I print one page of paper the black had fused to the whole goddamn tray again. If it does die I get to use work's 8550 sucker because the next printer I want to get needs to handle 11x17 paper. And I don't have that kind of money to drop on one. I'm sad though, I like my Canon. Everything needs to stop dying at once.
Anyway, still bitten by the sewing bug and I actually came up with a Easter dress to go with my hat. It ain't gonna happen for this year but it'd be cute to happen for next year. Maybe. It involves a lot of stuff I've never done before and specific colors that will make me have to dye stuff. I hate dying stuff. But I'm not going to be able to find lavender feathers, I know this up front.
The dress is kind of a purple monster and I can go the other way and use purple accents on a white dress instead, but I'll still need the lavender feathers. And if I really want to follow the hat design (which is the idea) I'll have to have lavender netting too. Dude, the lavender ribbons will be the easiest part.
It's a perfect excuse to have a lolita dress though. (I'm still going to do a summer one as well.)
