And I'm still waiting for stuff. And she inspired me. :D

Also note to self: change the glossary entry for the Excalibur to read Protoss designed. Bah, Firekka be damned, I dunno what to do with them.

"We drop out of hyperspace in 67 seconds."

"Warm up the beam cannons," Jim said. "I don't want to head into a fight with the damned safety still on."

"You got it," Ali said.

For a ship that could hold up to 600 warm bodies, Jim Raynor's crew of 20 some odd couldn't even be considered a skeletal one. Couple that with the fact that these people had been serving with him for upwards of 20 years now and pomp and circumstance had been thrown out the window. Not that Jim had any reason for it anyway.

The bridge seemed cavernous with only four people on it and Jim felt incredibly uncomfortable in the captain's chair. Unfortunately it was the best vantage point and for all intents and purposes he was the captain.

"Is the Relativity already on the other side?"

"Yeap. Dropped out a couple minutes before us. Speaking of, here we go."

Gotta love the gut-wrenching feeling of dropping out of FTL speed, Jim thought. Even though your body didn't move an inch because of the dampeners the mind still played its tricks and made it feel as if you were pitching forward after slamming on the brakes.

"Holy shit!"

The Excalibur shuddered as a particularly large piece of debris bounced off the upper arm of the destroyer, sending warning alarms screaming through the bridge. Other smaller pieces pelted the hull like a hailstorm.

"What in hell happened here?" Mary said aloud as they all gazed at the viewscreen.

"I dunno, but could we put on the brakes? And Tom, see if you can get Petri to shut up?"

"That piece made it through the shields, we have slight damage on the hull," Tom said as the wail shut off.

"Are we leaking?"

"No."

"Then ignore it for now." Jim pushed himself out of the chair and walked up between the two girls, his eyes fixed on the screen.

"Anything out there?"

"Not a thing. And it looks like the Relativity cloaked itself, I can't find them."

"Shit." It was complete carnage, horrible to look at. Jim didn't need to talk to Jessi to know that this had once been her fleet. Closing his eyes, he turned around and walked back to his chair.

"Hail 'em. Find out what we're doing now."
