I fail at NaBloPoMo!!

Sunday, November 15
We got back into the States around 11am. Poor Jeff got two tickets- one for not having his most recent car registration stickers, and one for speeding. :( The customs line was typically long. I didn't have anything to declare really. I spent approximately $25 on souvenirs: an army green jacket (500 yen!), a ceramic cat with both hands in the air, which will bring me good luck AND money, and a gift for my family. Oh, I also picked up the Shu Uemera eyelash curler in the airport. It was 1000 yen, which is cheaper than the States, actually.

We had a little time to walk around that day. In the morning, we basically went straight from the hotel to the train station. We stopped to pick up breakfast at the bakery around the corner first. We ate it on the top floor of the Kyoto train station, which overlooks the whole city. It was very windy!! I love all the pastries in Japan. So tasty! Well, not all of them haha. Most of them. I am not a big fan of bean paste, that's for sure! In Tokyo, we walked around the station (Tokyo, not Shinjuku as we thought we were headed into) trying to find food. My last official meal in Japan was curry and rice. Jeff got udon with tempura. We had really wanted to meet up with Brenna and Micah, but there wasn't enough time. :(

As we had our rail passes this time, we took the nice express train to the airport. Easy one hour ride, no stops. Very comfortable! Japanese trains are great. Lots of leg room. If only planes could be so nice. I grabbed some pizza while we waited for boarding to start. It was more of a snack, not a meal.

The flight was good. Food was worse this time, but edible at least. We got to LA in less than 9 hours! Very fast in my opinion. I watched movies: My Sister's Keeper, State of Play, and one more I can't remember. We got home and crashed for 10 hours. We woke up at midnight, hung out for a bit, then went back to bed. I think I fell asleep at 3:30am, and woke up at 8am for work. I was so sleepy! I should probably go to bed now but I'm gonna take a bath first.

I promise to post day reports for the rest of my trip! Friday and Saturday in particular were loads of fun!
