Have decided to detox again -- has nothing to do with above quiz. Am currently cooking quinoa and brown rice. Have not cooked this before, but followed the directions in the book exactly. However, this dish isn't looking *anything* like the same dish as made by aranhe when she was here. Maybe this is a good thing, since I ate far too much of it ( Read more... )

(An evil ninja master huh? I could get into that. *ggg*)

Well the 'World Domination' part does fit with our LotR87 motto, though that is sort of more for Hobbits, Elves, Wizards, Dwarves, etc . . . *ggg*

(What's quinoa?)

Quinoa is a grain, that when cooked properly, is delicious -- and healthy! I buy it at the health food store in Bulk, but it is possibly available in the regular grocery store as well. I just haven't looked for it there, since it is cheaper to buy it in bulk. Aranhe makes a recipe from Carol Vorderman's 'Detox For Life' book called Quinoa and Rice Pilaf. This is Quinoa and Brown Rice with peas, and it is wonderful. You use vegetable stock for seasoning. I actually made this recipe twice yesterday. The first time I made it, I used too much veggie stock, and it wasn't very good, so I tossed it and tried again. I had enough quinoa, brown rice and peas for one more try, and the second time it came out much better -- more like Aranhe's dish. So, I will be cooking this dish a lot over the next month or so -- now that I know how to do it right. There is another recipe -- Pineapple Rice -- that I want to try next. :)
