Happy New Year!!

Holy Crap it's been a while since I said anything here.

Well, Happy New Year to all who still use LJ and read here. I hope this new year is starting off well for y'all, even though we're only 2 days in.

As always, life around my house is nuts. Holidays were good, everyone behaved/got what they wanted and fun was had and homemade (not by me) Apple Cider Moonshine was discovered and consumed. Deadly but tasty stuff, that.

Wednesday afternoon and all day yesterday, I de-Christmased the house. I'm just not in the mood to keep it decorated this year. Tuesday, Cayla and I will be getting up at oh-dark-thirty so I can take her to Logan as she'll be flying out to Hawaii for 10 days. She's had this trip planned for MONTHS, paid for it all herself, worked/studied like a mad woman this past semester, so she really deserves it. She'll be staying with a g/f from high school who lives out there, and she'll be scoping the place out for when she does a semester study program at the U of Hawaii/Maui when she's done with URI.

Liam is doing indoor track - which basically means he's throwing stuff. Shotput and weights and hammer. Heavy stuff. But he's enjoying it, and has practice every day after school. It's also a good incentive for him to keep his grades up, you have to carry a C or better in ALL classes, or you're off the team.

So: Cayla - 10 days in Hawaii. When she comes back, my Mom will be going to visit my sister in Islamorada in the Florida Keys for two weeks. Then in April she's going to Rome for two weeks with a group of ladies. I'm thrilled she's doing both! There's no need for her to stay home, if she's got the energy to go! Not bad for a gal who'll be 85 in March.

As for me, I'm going to Phoenix in February for a Supernatural convention. I haven't conventioned in a looooooooong time! I'm really looking forward to meeting/partying with the girls I've gotten friendly with in the SPN fandom via Twitter and Gmail chat (not to mention oooggling Jensen and Jared in person!).

My only resolution (if it can be called that) for this year, is to try and do more stuff for me, if I can afford it. Things that I want to do or see. Let's face it, I'm not getting any younger here, and I don't have Jed to worry about anymore, and the kids are mostly self-sufficient, so...I'm willing to bet there's all kinda trouble I can get myself into! I'm at least gonna give it a try!

How are y'all?
