I am glad for Trozzort's post. Now I know what my family is up to today. It is nice that I can use LJ since I can't send e-mails out from here. last year this time I went outside between the airport and my car and i nearly froze.. that's with about a foot thick of winter coats, gloves etc.. Thought #1: 'people actually LIVE here? no..' By God's providence they were out of sportscars and i had to settle for a 4x4.. which helped when going up and down icy roads in the mountains, where I had to.

Yes, i agree, the people are really nice, which is about normal by NC standards I think. :) Even people in retail in the downtown spoke good english (and i suppose french) and were actually friendly.

But about their media and government? There seems to be a "that's just how it is, eh" sort of attitude. Dear father of the family I was staying with (it was a small family, having only 8 kids) was sitting down and telling me about national heritage, Christian history, etc.. but he was speaking all about the US as if it was HIS history, and I was thinking, "What about your own liberal & socialist government?"

But anyways.

Cool people. I always enjoy working with the many Canadian coworkers I deal with online these days.
