Why do I have such a visceral reaction when someone slams Castle? I know the show is far from perfect. I know it's treading into dangerously clichéd waters with the current incarnation of the UST. I can freely admit those things. Yet when someone else says them I just want to scream "FUCK YOU, ASSHOLE! CLEARLY YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE SUBTLE

I'm really sorry if I have in any way inspired said feelings with my slight disgruntled-ness lately.

Those characters mean more to me than fictional people probably should and I'll stand by them no matter how much the writers try to box them into a palatable network tv box despite their obvious emotional complexities.

Exactly, You've been vocal about your negative feelings (as have I, honestly) but it's also quite obvious that you still love the show/characters. That is not the case with some. Some people have been so hateful that I just want to scream "THE STOP WATCHING THE SHOW, ASSHOLE!". But of course that's not kosher.

Ugh. Yes. I've been bummed by the character hate that's going on on Tumblr. Like people seem to be picking a side and absolutely bashing either Castle or Beckett. And I'm like NO THEY'RE BOTH STUPID BUT THEY'RE STILL AMAZEBALLS AND YOU NEED TO LOVE THEM. Seriously, I do think they're both being a little ridiculous but they're being ridiculous in ways that make sense for their characters and for the way they've sort of been taking things for granted and leaving things unsaid for so long. And you can't just pick one or the other and lay all the blame on one of them. They are just two beautiful idiots in love. AND THEY WILL FIGURE IT OUT EVENTUALLY AND THEN HAVE HOT HOT SEX AND CUDDLES.
