Jason Todd needs to win the Hunger Games to get his sick mother to a Capitol doctor. He convinces a previous victor, Talia al Ghul, to train him to win. But no amount of training can prepare him for the hardships ahead. Or for what happens when allies become friends and there can only be one victor.
"Don't worry," I say to the nurse. "I know the Games are over now. I don't need to stab any more people." I give him a big smile. Oddly, he's not reassured.
