I recently read an interesting blog post on tor.com about choosing what to read next. This is actually something I struggle with sometimes. A lot of times I feel like I'm wanting something specific, but am not sure what that is. Other times it's almost like I want to read, but don't feel like reading anything. LOL. Anyway, one thing I think might help is if I go back to monthly to-read lists. I'm prepared for the potentiality that I won't stick to it at all (heh), but looking at some of my old posts here, I realize I used to be pretty good about it. So. Here it goes, for January -
*Wild is the Witch by Rachel Griffin
*Witchmark by C. L. Polk
*Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik
*For the Throne by Hannah Whitten
*A Master of Djinn by P. Djeli Clark
*Big Bad by Lily Anderson
*Network Effect by Martha Wells
*The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix Harrow
*The Bitter Season by Tami Hoag
I'm aiming for an average of 6 books a month, and I'd love to get off to a strong start at the beginning of the year. A Master of Djinn is my pick for our family book club, so that must be read this month. Also, if I really like Polaris Rising, I may read its sequel instead of Network Effect (they're both sci-fi).
