In the year 2012, a man-made virus was unleashed in Japan’s largest International Subway system, infecting millions nearly instantly without the notice of the public. Within the first week, symptoms ranging from high fevers to stiff joints to dementia began to appear. The second week, violent outbursts, boils, blisters on the skin, deformation of the face, hands, and feet. Within the third, hair loss, involuntary motor functions, and emaciation. Within three months of infection, victims are dead, with the virus still airborne, and infecting not just humans, but animals as well. The virus became widespread, thus the world’s biggest cities were nuked to oblivion by panicked military Generals with their armies in order to neutralize the infection.
The world became a barren wasteland.
Just under Ground Zero 3 years after the initial infection, a fortress was dug and created, built by survivors for survivors from all over, welcoming any and all in need of a refuge from the now dangerous ecosystem above. Their goal: To survive and to stop the infection. Their recent findings have lead them to believe that only one thing can stop the infection: Patient Zero.
