Hi folks!
Posting from New Zealand! I have been here since Tuesday (Monday American time) of last week, and it has been absolutely amazing so far. I have been given an amazing opportunity.
As many of you already know, I've gotten to know many of the Weta folks over the years that come to the Comic Con. I told them last July that I was looking to go to New Zealand after graduating, and they told me to come down to the Workshop to visit them. That is the first thing I did after unpacking (well, as much as I could, as the flight managed to lose one piece of luggage and I had to wait a few hours for that to come in :/ ). Anyhow, as I was saying...
We talked a lot, and after much talking and I doing much gawking, I was offered to spend some of my time here in New Zealand doing unpaid work experience/interning for Weta Workshop. It was basically a dream come true. So for three full weeks of my time here... since Wednesday last, during my weeks I've been working for Weta. I have seen some absolutely amazing things, though some of it is confidential and I cannot say anything on it.
I will give a full write up of my time thus far and many pictures in a friend's locked entry in a few days. If for some reason you want to see it and aren't friended by me, uh, leave a message here explaining who exactly you are and why you're interested.
Cheers,
Me
