(no subject)

I asked Tom not to, and he did. Here it goes.

1. B/Penelope- Pinback
Okay, you all must know how extremely difficult it was for me not to make the entire list Pinback, so give me those two as one. Penelope is by far, not Pinback's best work but it gets honorable mention and is in memory of my dear Penelope who I did find "floating upside down on the top of the bowl". Since the song isn't about their Penelope actually dying I can honestly say this is very upbeat and just makes you want to smile and clap your hands. B reminds me of the music project in Chritchley's and is just an amazing song all around, Zach and Rob both feel very passionately about this subject and it shows.

2. Lonely Day- Phantom Planet
Not all of you may know, but I had a very hard time adjusting to the move from San Diego to Camp Pendleton/Fallbrook. I went from a big city to a small town, from knowing everyone for years to knowing no one. On the first day of school at Fallbrook High I woke up at 5:30 to my radio alarm clock playing this song from the very first note, the whole damn song and not even a snitch of the commercial before it, the exact beginning. I just laid back in bed and (having done this new school thing many times before so I was quite aware of what my day was going to be like) though "fuck".

3. Je Reviens- Autour de Lucie
A french band that I highly recommend if you're okay with not understanding what is being said, which is actually the case with a lot of American music. This reminds me of the weekend Tom and I spent in Catalina for our first anniversary. Just so you know, "Je reviens" means "I return" and it's a love song about a girl whole traveled the world but came back for him.

4. Say it Ain't So- Weezer
Okay, I know it's cliché but this reminds me of Serra High and drama and Hatful of Rain and Commedia and none of you know what I'm talking about, but it makes me happy. This is the only song Steven would play that wasn't one of his random, on-the-spot improve songs, and I can't put one of those, except for maybe Oreo's.

5. Cashout- Fugazi
I don't listen to it often, but when ever it seems to pop up on my iPod I always remember old times. Not any particular time, just old times.

(much to Tom's despair)
6. Good-bye Sky Harbor- Jimmy Eat World
This is an amazing (and long) song that I owe to my friend Sean who played it for me on one very boring and sober New Years.

Now it's your turn
Megan
The other Megan
and the very emo John Taff
