Thanks for sharing this. I keep toying with the idea of making my own textures and you've given me a few ideas for getting started.

I'm glad you found it useful! Textures really are super fun to make, sometimes even more than icons.

JESS.

THIS IS MAGICAL. Oh my gosh, thank you so, so much for this. Really! ♥
Textures seem so magical and mysterious to me, and this is going to be really helpful when I try (for the billionth time) to make my own textures that aren't light textures and also are useable instead of weird yellow blocks with a slight grunge pattern (I don't know either; it's why I needed this guide, tbh). My favorite section is the SHAPES section because I freaking ADORE shapes, but also because look at those cute textures, oh my goodness.

Anyway, A+ guide as per usual, lovely! Gold star for you, and thank you again! ♥

SAMANTHA. YES. Ngl, I find your light textures wonderful (especially your b&w with soft light), but this excites me. Another thing you conquer that I can flail about? Yes please!

Shapes are so much fun! And font shapes are also fun. And Brush shapes. Shapes in general. And obviously you use all these things to perfection already, so I am super excited to see what you can come up with for textures!

I'm glad you found it useful! If you're interested in making textures I'd definitely recommend checking out the other tutorials I linked, because I learned a lot from them as well.

This is really useful, thank you! I honestly never would have thought about using fonts, could be very interesting for decorative textures. There are so many filters that can't be used for icons, but whenever I make a texture from scratch (which hasn't happened in while tbh), I try as many different ones as possible. It's really fun to play around with them :D

I'm glad you found it useful! I think I possibly use fonts more successfully in textures than I do icons sometimes, haha. They are fun to try out though. The same with filters, though yeah, a lot of them aren't useful, but still, it's fun to explore them.
