20inspirations Round 13: Epitome Redux
So, there's a story behind this post, and that story begins with me thinking, "Oh, wouldn't it be cool to do another round of Epitome (Round 10 @ 20inspirations) representing the epitome (or something of the sort) of each of the previous rounds." So that's where this batch first begins. I didn't intend to actually do it because I didn't think I had the time, but fate had other plans. Having signed up for the first amazing activity at bestof_icons, 3 separate people asked for icons from my first Epitome set to be remade. And I thought about it... and then a 4th icon was added, and that was all the convincing I needed. Of course, it's not an exact replica (it wouldn't be a re-made set otherwise), and at least half of the original screencaps have been changed but the original essence from the epitome round is alive, as well as some of what I believe to be the meaning of 10/11 remaining rounds that were offered. So that's the shortened version of how this set came to be. Below the icons is the inspiration, as well as information about the specifically asked for remakes. Feel free to skip those rambles.

INSPIRATIONS
#01: Word/Close Up

#04: Word/Composed: Ron is so incredibly composed in this scene, so I kind of went with the mood of the word rather than the meaning. I wanted to keep text, because it's his shining moment of glory, and having Knight by itself felt so much more intense. I also used some negative space here, and some deep blues and the silhouette to contrast the oranges of the image that was used originally, because I thought it might be nice to have some more colour in there, but not too vibrant at the same time.

#09: Theme/Rainbow: ROSE. And Rose's choice. From my original icon, I took Rose + close crop + Bad Wolf Bay and took us back in time to when she first lost the doctor. It's just as powerful a scene (perhaps even more so) and I wanted the crop to encompass that. The colouring, came in a weird fluke, and while it's not directly rainbow, there's hint of all kinds of colours within it, so it sort of, took the theme by surprise as well.

#14: Photo: BONUS REMAKE of this, because I didn't think much would change between the week it was posted and now. The main inspiration was the green tones that are so prominent in summer. Everything is rich and lovely, especially after rain here. But I also think Sansa sort of, represents the idealistic nature of summer at the beginning of the series. So yeah. Double meaning behind remake and theme.
#15: Icon: This was totally planned to keep intact the slightly chaotic nature of Puck & Quinn. I also wanted to play more with the solid colours, so the pastel green became more intense in the Puck image. It's slightly more... idk, composed in it's boxed nature.

#20: Theme/Light: What I remember loving most about the original (and the Troy icon) is the truth and duality behind the sort of characters they are. Abed is a light character. He can be dark, but in the end he is the one who wants the best and sees the best in all characters. So with this remake, I wanted to represent that lightness, but also the undiagnosable nature because ... that's who Abed is. He dresses up as Batman to seek vengeance on people, he believes in alternate realities. So - different image, same reasoning behind it.
