Aw, thank you so much for your feedback!
I'm looking at #8 and I think the cropping is not working so well, maybe a 'mysterious crop', as in #5, #9 and #10, would have worked wonderfully.
I cropped those caps in every possible way, because they were gorgeous to work with but a little tricky to crop. I kept that crop even if it was a little awkward, as you pointed out, because I wanted a slightly far crop and that was the only one that satisfied me. :D
(yes, I'm that lazy :D)

Icon #06: I'm so loving how you cropped this Kelly image and how you're making the shadows and the lights pop-out, but it looks like nothing was done in colouring. My suggestion is making it really blue, as in #02, or making Kelly's skin more colourful (red, yellow, pink).
I'm very glad you like the crop, because I love Kelly but her forehead makes the cropping part hard as hell. :D
For the coloring, I tried to work in the ways you suggested, but I couldn't get it right. I also made two alternates of that one:

I love the colouring on all these, mainly #7 & #9. And your cropping is definitely your strong point.
My least favs are #1 and #10. #1 because I can't tell what the thing in the middle is. and the icon seems overcrowded what with all the colours and the textures.
And #10 because the colouring in it seems dull and the text doesn't flatter it, imo.
I hope that was helpful. :)

Hey, I'm evangelin1202! My graphics comm is effulgentcolors and I'd really appreciate any concrit you wish to give me. Thanks!! :)

All of these are pretty new and I'm either not sure about them or are different from my usual style(which is pretty much close crops bellow the eyes or lots of clean neg space).

#1: I think the composition is beautiful and creative, I like the contrast between the natural bright coloring of Buffy and the black trees against the white background. However, I think the text clashes with the icon a little: it looks like you pick the color from the picture of Buffy, which usually it's a good thing to do; in this case, though, I would have choose a less saturated and darker colour, to match the meaning of the phrase you chose. Maybe a dark grey?
Also, the font of "she stands" is a tad too "cheerful", maybe a more "serious" font would have worked better to convey the mood of the icon.
You can check this amazing tut by icedragoncat, especially the Creating the Mood part ( ... )

First of all thanks so much for taking the time to give me concrit and very useful one at that. :D

I recently downloaded new fonts and I haven't mastered using them yet so thank you for the tutorial, looks great and I'll check it out in depth later.

It did make sense! I tend to post an icon or two with blending in concrit memes 'cause I think these can always be improved. I'll try working with profiles like you suggested.

Thank you for the compliment! This icon's coloring was actually one of my first bolder experiments. :D

I've been told that text is my weakness and I tend to agree so again thanks!

:)

You're very welcome, I'm glad you find my feedback helpful - and that it made sense to you :D

I've been told that text is my weakness and I tend to agree so again thanks!
Oh, but I don't think so! I'm so afraid of text that I hardly ever put it in my icons, so I think is great that you experiment with it! Practise makes perfect! :)

Thank you very much for the feedback!

I never noticed the shadows around Carey's eyes, thanks for pointing that out.

I put #7 in because I'm a bit torn about the close crop. I'm not very good at close crops and I'm trying to get better, but I felt so weird cutting her chin off. :s It's nice to know you still think it's eye-grabbing. :)

#1: the picture you chose is lovely, and the natural coloring fits the subject of the icon very well. The lighting is soft and beautiful too, and so is the sharpening as well. The greyness of the background, though, kind of detracts from the overall brightness of the icon. Maybe a pale beige or pink would have worked better, here. Also, the crop looks a little bit awkward because a little too much of her arm is showing in the lower part of the icon. I would have chosen a closer crop, or a crop in which less arm was showing - maybe you could have cut the image a little further up ( ... )

let me start off by saying: i really like your JUICY BRIGHT icons and i'm totally watching your comm now ♥
And really like the coloring on #2

maybe the girl in icon #4 could be sharpened a bit more to match the sharpness of the background? idk i feel like the background's sort of taking over her and if she was more sharp, that'd take care of it.
and on icon 8, i really like the overall composition and colors (have i mentioned i liked your bright coloring before? lol), but as i'm looking at it some more, the white chunk above his hair is really confusing me/taking attention away from him

wheee ♥

Hi!
I don't know how to give you a helpful concrit, because I like your style very much and it's difficult to find flaws in your icons :)
I wish I had your skill in cut-outs, because they're really sharp and perfectly executed!
Your style reminds me somehow of kawaii_chicken, because of the bright bold colors you both use. I really admire you for this technique, it looks very difficult to handle and it's very creative and unique. I also envy your skill with text, they always fit the icon: great placements, colour and font choice!
However, here is some feedback I hope you'll find helpful :)

#1: The background is a bit too dark, in my opinion: a slightly lighter grey would have worked better, here, to enhance the contrast between the background and the foreground.

#6: I like the composition, but I think you could have used a slightly bigger size for the pictures: it's difficult to figure out the subjects, because their features got lost. Coloring and lighting are amazing, though.

And that would be all. :D
#2, #3 and #9 are mind-blowing, btw.

I really like #1 & #9. These are very creative and the close cropped ones are wonderful.
However, #3 seems a bit too blurry to me. and while I like the idea of #5, it seems to be too bright but I like the text placement.

Sorry I'm terribly late D:
#1 and #9 are very experimental for me. I love making new composition every time and I'm very happy that you like them!
About #3 you're right at all. I created a new coloring but that image wasn't so much good and the outcome was all grained. I hope that with a better picture the pixelization will disappear D:

I agree with the first commenter on the blurriness of icon #3 (although the blue part of her top still has a jagged line on my screen), but the colours are fabulous! I also like the crop ( ... )
