Witch Hunt

Lil' old me got a three day suspension from work for taking half a day off. I called in sick on Tuesday, and the manager said, "take a Tylenol and come in". And I wasn't willing to go to the health centre and get a note, so.

Then I got put on probation for calling a board member about the "ayok" incident,as well as a complaint I received from another board member (the manager and two board members are in cahoots). Yesterday the manager said we won't use that word at daycare. It just means "can't", specifically about a person's abilities, i.e. you can't do something. This is what happens when non-Inuktitut speakers make decisions about a language they don't know. They weren't willing to consider a different opinion.

I've done a lot for them, and I told one of the board members in November that I felt like I was being bullied, who turned around and told the manager. The manager asked me if I felt like I was treated differently then other staff, and I said yes, but I didn't have any incidents that outlined this. Now I do.

The thing that sucks the most is that I won't be part of those kids lives any more, and they might have tarnished my reputation. But anyone who knows me knows I'm a good person, I don't stir up shit because I'm vindictive, I've been mistreated, and the Inuit staff are being patronized. At least I get a chance to start something new.
