(no subject)
So Core was absurdly nihilistic. We segued from "how do we discern the good from the bad?/what, therefore, should we do?" with Salem into McCarthyism into 9/11 and the Patriot Act and Botelho (my <3) told us that PA is trying to pass an act which would strip teachers of their tenure if they were found to be giving personal opinions that were "too liberal." And that was scary. But our class, this group of kids who were all about changing the world in our admissions essays, was more of less saying, "well, fuck it, we can't make everything perfect so why try?"
Wowza.
That wasn't really any fun.
Also, I have no idea what I want to do with my life and I'm vaguely starting to freak out. I think I would be a better student if my classes interested me (oh, spring 2006!).
I really hope Tony gets the RA job. And Kelly and I will be OLs, which I think would be hilarious...the Kevin and Rick of the OLs. We've decided that if Tony gets RA we're going to try our damndest to be in his wing and then come tell him about our roommate issues all the time. He's not going to have any of this and will probably just refuse to speak to either one of us, but we think it's hilarious.
I hate Wednesdays because they preceed Thursdays which are hell and I have so much Damned Women to read. Hee. DAMNED WOMEN!
In an effort to be more productive I see Tony and Kelly less and that definitely sucks. And the boy can't go to Pride tonight either...I would enjoy work if it meant something, but bitchwork makes me die inside.
Okee...I go to Pride now. I am indeed alive, just never in my fucking room.
Also, my computer is being a complete bitch and I might chuck it out the window. YES.
