she asked me, but I still found it an interesting rant- I feel Rowling doesn't address that issue directly, she does skirt it

oh no wait! I have a brainwave! I don't think you have to pay- I think it refers to paying for the uniform and equipment.

What would be the point of Hogwarts having a fund, then re paying it back to itself? Surely thats for equipment and uniform?

no its er probally a privet fund... like okay privet citicens give the money too the fund and the school takes from the fund. how else do they pay for all the teachers and whatnot...

thats a good point- teachers wages... *thinks* either the school has a seperate fund for that or its from tuition fees.

I know my fees are about 7,000 pounds a year *shudder* - which raises the question if Hogwarts does have fees, they will surely be making a profit- and wheres that living?

yeah, that is a good point, the ministry probably has an accumulated fund, I mean how is the ministry that rich? By seizing goods from peoples like Malfoy's propert, international trade, accumulated wealth and what not, but I suspect that tuition fees aren't going there- in OOTP Fudge begins to "interfere" at Hogwarts- its as if the school and ministry are totally seperate- this would not seem so news worthy if they were connected.
