music huh?
ok so it's friday and 26 of the channels i get on BASIC cable are running this concert for the gulf coast thing... which i think is cool and all but what the fuck people, the 3 channels that should be running it and aren't... MTV, VH1 and BET... mtv's running a repeat of the f'n vma's which they've run 30 times since they happened, vh1's running a repeat of tommy lee goes to college... and bet is running their own concert... apparently they want to make a donation but they want to claim it on their own as opposed to every other fucking channel that's telling you just donate to redcross.org or salvationarmy.org...
am i the only one bothered by this whole concept... mtv and vh1 and supplying us with repeats instead of possibly the most important music event of the decade, granted bet's at least stepping up and doing something but i really think this is more of a self righteous bullshit way to do it... send your money to us because we're showing the music you like and we're the minority and we'll send it to the people... but we'll also take the credit for doing this... the 26 other channels that are running the real concert might get tax write offs for the air time and the lack of sponsorship and commercials but the uniformity of selflessness is much more moving... it's like comparing one person donating a million dollars and a million people donating one dollar.. the donation's the same but it means more when it comes from everyone across the board
